L-THREONINE

INTRODUCTION & OVERVIEW
L-Threonine is one of the nine essential amino acids that cannot be synthesized by humans and monogastric animals (like poultry and swine) and must be obtained through diet.
It is the second or third limiting amino acid in most plant-based feed ingredients (e.g., corn, soybean meal). Supplementation is critical for optimizing animal growth, health, and feed efficiency.

FUNCTIONS & APPLICATIONS
Primary Function: Nutritional supplement to meet amino acid requirements.
Key Roles in Metabolism:
Protein synthesis and nitrogen balance.
Precursor for glycine and serine synthesis.
Important component of mucin proteins in the gut, supporting intestinal health and immune function.
Key Benefits in Animal Nutrition:
Optimizes Growth: Allows for precise, low-protein diet formulation, reducing nitrogen excretion.
Improves Feed Efficiency: Lowers feed costs per kg of weight gain.
Supports Gut Health: Enhances intestinal barrier function.
Applications:
Feed Industry: Premixes for poultry, swine, and aquaculture feeds.
Pharmaceuticals: Intravenous solutions, nutrient supplements.
Food Industry: Fortification of foods and beverages.

HANDLING & STORAGE
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place in its original, sealed container. Protect from moisture.
Handling: Use with general industrial hygiene practices. Avoid creating dust. Use dust mask if handling in powder form in poorly ventilated areas.
Shelf Life: Usually 3-5 years when stored properly.

PACKAGING
25 kg multi-layer paper bags with polyethylene liner, or big bags (500-1,000 kg).
