Applications of Licowax PE 520 fine grain
Licowax PE 520 fine grain is an efficient external lubricant for rigid PVC applications, providing excellent anti-sticking properties to the PVC melt, resulting in a smooth and glossy surface of the end article.
As well Licowax PE 520 fine grain can be used as an internal lubricant for polyolefins providing flow improvement of PE compounds and as an release agent for elastomers and rubber applications.

Licowax PE 520 fine grain is also an effective dispersing agent for PE masterbatch applications, providing excellent organoleptic properties, brilliant dispersing properties for pigments, fillers and additives as well as thermal stability.
Licowax PE 520 fine grain can be used in hotmelt adhesives as viscosity modifier.
Depending on the dosage, open and set time can be adjusted.
Licowax PE 520 fine grain can also be used as a wax compound in printing inks to provide rub and scratch resistance as well as a slip modification additive.
Licowax PE 520 fine grain is especially recommend for offset printing inks.

Licowax PE 520 fine grain is especially recommend for offset printing inks.
Licowax PE 520 fine grain is a low-density polyethylene wax with branched chains synthesized at low pressure from Ziegler catalysts, with good oxidation resistance and a clean white appearance.
For polyolefins, Licowax PE 520 fine grain is an ideal carrier for masterbatches and functional masterbatches and is also used as an efficient external lubricant.

For color masterbatches and functional masterbatches
Licowax PE 520 fine grain is the most important application in the plastics industry.
Licowax PE 520 fine grain is a polyethylene wax.
Acts as a matting agent.
Improves the scrub resistance of printing inks.
Acts as abrasive, oral care agent and viscosity controlling agent.

Licowax PE 520 fine grain in powder form.
Use as a lubricant for plastics in particular polyolefins (processing aid) and pigment concentrates based on polyolefins (dispersing agent and carrier material).
External lubricant for rigid PVC extrusion.
Release agent for styrenic PBT TPEs and rubber.
Improved gum resistance for printing inks.
Also usable in coatings and paints.
Solvent-based varnish.
Binder for carbon paper.
Cosmetics: abrasive, oral care agent, viscosity control agent

Licowax PE 520 fine grain thermoplastic resins include lowdensity polyethylenes (LDPE), linear low-density polyethylenes (LLDPE), high-density polyethylenes (HDPE), and ethylene copolymers, such as ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and ethylene- ethyl acrylate (EEA), and ultrahighmolecular- weight polyethylenes (UHMWPE).
The basic properties of polyethylenes can be modified with a broad range of fillers, reinforcements, and chemical modifiers, such as thermal stabilizers, colorants, flame retardants, and blowing agents.
Major application areas for Licowax PE 520 fine grain are packaging, industrial containers, automotive, materials handling, consumer products, medical products, wire and cable insulation, furniture, housewares, toys, and novelties.
Licowax PE 520 fine grain, the first of the polyethylenes to be developed, has good toughness, flexibility, low-temperature impact resistance, clarity in film form, and relatively low heat resistance.

Major uses at present are grocery bags, industrial trash bags, liners, and heavy-duty shipping bags for such products as plastic resin pellets.
Rigidity and tensile strength of the HDPE resins are considerably higher than those properties in the low- and medium-density materials.
Impact strength is slightly lower, as is to be expected in a stiffer material, but values are high, especially at low temperatures, compared with those of many other thermoplastics.

Licowax PE 520 fine grains are available with broad, intermediate, and narrow molecular-weight distribution, which provides a selection to meet specific performance requirements.
As with the other polyethylene grades, very-high-molecular- weight copolymers of HDPE resins are available with improved resistance to stress cracking.
