LITHOL RUBINE BK

LITHOL RUBINE BK

CAS NO.: 5281-04-9
EC/LIST.: 226-109-5

Lithol Rubine BK is a reddish synthetic azo dye.
Lithol Rubine BK  has the appearance of a red powder and magenta when printed.
Lithol Rubine BK  is slightly soluble in hot water, insoluble in cold water, and insoluble in ethanol.
When dissolved in dimethylformamide, its absorption maximum lies at about 442 nm.
Lithol Rubine BK  is usually supplied as a calcium salt.
Lithol Rubine BK  is prepared by azo coupling with 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid.
Lithol Rubine BK  is used to dye plastics, paints, printing inks, and for textile printing.
Lithol Rubine BK  is normally used as a standard magenta in the three and four color printing processes.

When used as a food dye, it has E number E180.
Lithol Rubine BK  is used to color cheese rind as well as a component in some lip balms.

When used as a food colouring, it has the E number E180.
Lithol Rubine BK  is used to color the cheese crust and also as an ingredient in some lip balms.

Lithol rubine BK produced little irritation when tested, as the diluted material, on the skin of man and rabbits, and failed to induce skin sensitization in man.
Lithol Rubine BK  was of low acute oral toxicity to rats and caused kidney damage on repeated oral administration.
Studies involving multiple oral doses to pregnant rabbits and rats showed no adverse foetal effects.
Fertility was decreased in the second generation of a limited three-generation oral rat study but no other reproductive effects were reported.
There was no evidence of carcinogenicity in a limited dermal study in mice.
No mutagenic activity was detected in Ames bacterial tests using pure samples

Lithol Rubine BK is a red shade azo dye or colour that contains calcium and aluminium ions.
This pigment generally occurs in a red coloured powder or granular form.
Lithol Rubine BK dyes are marginally soluble in hot water but are completely insoluble when they come into contact with ethanol and cold water.

Lithol Rubine BK dyes involve a wide range of applications such as adding a specific tone to paints, plastics, printing inks, and also for textile printing.
Also, Lithol Rubine BK pigment has a large demand from the food sector when used as a food additive, particularly named 'E-180' for surface coating cheese products.

A rise in the industrial applications of Lithol Rubine BK pigment in the Asia Pacific region is estimated to considerably lift the azo dyes market over the forecast period.

A rise in the usage of Lithol Rubine BK pigment in the food, cosmetics, and printing industries, owing to its exceptional reddish dyeing property is expected to fuel the demand for Lithol Rubine BK over the forecast period.
Moreover, rapid industrialization due to continuous growing economies in most emerging economies is expected to add to the growth of the Lithol Rubine BK market over the forecast period.

However, the consumption of azo dyes has been banned in countries like Australia and New Zealand, due to diseases such as asthma, rhinitis, and other skin diseases like urticarial, etc.
These factors are likely to hamper the demand for Lithol Rubine BK.

Lithol Rubine BK is used to dye plastics, paints, printing inks, and for textile printing.
Lithol Rubine BK is normally used as a standard magenta in the three and four color printing processes.
