USES:

Locron (drygen) is one of the most common active ingredients in commercial antiperspirants.
The variation most commonly used in deodorants and antiperspirants is Al2Cl(OH)5.
Locron (drygen) is also used as a coagulant in water and wastewater treatment processes to remove dissolved organic matter and colloidal particles present in suspension.
Locron (drygen) is a group of water-soluble aluminum complexes with the general formula AlnCl(3n-m)(OH)m.
Locron (drygen) is included up to 25% in over-the-counter hygiene products as an active antiperspirant agent. The primary site of action of aluminum chlorohydrate is at the level of the stratum corneum layer, which is rel

Locron (drygen) is used in the following products: laboratory chemicals, pH regulators and water treatment products, paper chemicals and dyes, coating products, leather treatment products, textile treatment products and dyes and washing & cleaning products.
Locron (drygen) is used in the following areas: printing and recorded media reproduction, agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining, municipal supply (e.g. electricity, steam, gas, water) and sewage treatment and building & construction work.
Locron (drygen) is used for the manufacture of: pulp, paper and paper products, textile, leather or fur, chemicals and mineral products (e.g. plasters, cement).
Release to the environment of Locron (drygen) can occur from industrial use: in processing aids at industrial sites, as processing aid, as an intermediate step in further manufacturing of another substance (use of intermediates) and in the production of articles.
Other release to the environment of Locron (drygen) is likely to occur from: indoor use (e.g. machine wash liquids/detergents, automotive care products, paints and coating or adhesives, fragrances and air fresheners).

WHAT DOES LOCRON (DRYGEN) DO?

Locron (drygen) is one of the 18 aluminum-based active ingredients.
Locron (drygen) works by forming a temporary plug within the sweat duct that help reduce the flow of sweat to the skin's surface.
While the aluminum chlorohydrate reduces the amount of sweat on the skin surface, the ingredient also creates a skin environment which is hostile to the growth of malodor-producing bacteria to help reduce underarm odor.

HOW IS LOCRON (DRYGEN) MADE?

Locron (drygen) is typically prepared from virgin aluminum, mined and purified from naturally occurring mineral bauxite.
Locron (drygen) is very energy intensive, creates greenhouse gases and the mineral supply is finite.
Locron (drygen) is then combined with hydrochloric acid and water and reacted under controlled conditions to form the aluminum chlorohydrate ingredient.
Locron (drygen) combines many of the best features of inorganic and organic coagulants.
In a very real sense, Locron (drygen) bridges the performance gap between organic polymers and traditional metal-based coagulants like alum and iron salts.

Locron (drygen) offers a number of features that set it apart from polyaluminum chloride (PACl) and alum.
Locron (drygen) is the most concentrated soluble aluminum-based coagulant available and has the highest basicity.
Basicity describes the amount of hydroxide (or OH- groups) associated with the aluminum aggregates.
Locron (drygen) helps treat settled waters in conventional plants as a filter aid, an application that is similar to that in direct filtration plants.
Use of Locron (drygen) also can benefit plants using organic polymer filter aids.

Locron (drygen) is characterized by the highest aluminum concentration (23% Al2O3) in any commercially available aluminum-based solution.
Locron (drygen) has a high cationic charge which makes it very effective at removing even very small particles required for drinking water purification.
In addition, Locron (drygen) creates strong flocs that dewater well and leads to reduced levels of chemical sludge.
Because of the inherently high basicity (80-85%), Drygen S needs less alkalinity in the raw water than other coagulants.
As a result, Locron (drygen) can be used in both high- and low-alkalinity waters, and it has very low impact on treated water alkalinity levels, so it decreases or eliminates the need for alkali addition.
Locron (drygen) is made using high-quality raw materials and thus have very low levels of impurities, making it suitable for both drinking water applications and high demanding industrial applications.
