EC Number: 203-542-8
Molecular Forumla: (CH3)2-N-CH2CH2OH
Formula Weight: 89.14

LUPRAGEN N 101 is a liquid tertiary ethanol amine.
LUPRAGEN N 101 inherits both, a tertiary amine and hydroxyl group.

As a tertiary amine LUPRAGEN N 101 accelerates the gel reaction during the formation of polyurethanes (PU).
The free hydroxyl group binds chemically into the PU matrix.
LUPRAGEN N 101 is therefore classified as a “reactive” catalyst with low residual odor.

As a gelling catalyst LUPRAGEN N 101 is usually mixed with a blowing catalyst like LUPRAGEN N 205.

LUPRAGEN N 101 is a catalyst for urethane reaction, neutralization agent for anionic stabilized waterborne resins.
LUPRAGEN N 101 can be used for the synthesis of polyurethanes and as catalyst for two-component paints.
LUPRAGEN N 101 is also used as neutralization agent in paints based on water-borne polyesters, alkyds, acrylic resins and polyurethanes.

LUPRAGEN N 101 is a liquid tertiary ethanol amine.
LUPRAGEN N 101 acts as a gelling catalyst with low residual odor.

LUPRAGEN N 101 inherits both, a tertiary amine and hydroxyl group.
LUPRAGEN N 101 accelerates the gel reaction during the formation of polyurethanes (PU) and free hydroxyl group binds chemically into the PU matrix.

LUPRAGEN N 101 is used in rigid foam, spray foam, slabstock- and molded flexible foam.
LUPRAGEN N 101 is usually mixed with a blowing catalyst like LUPRAGEN N205.

LUPRAGEN N100 and LUPRAGEN N101 are catalysts for the production of Polyurethane (PUR) foams.
PUR catalysts are needed to facilitate the reaction of the components isocyanate and alcohol to form polymers.
The particular catalyst required depends on the desired properties of the PUR foam.

Uses of LUPRAGEN N 101:
LUPRAGEN N 101 is used as pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediates for the manufacture of dyes, fiber treatment agents, anti-corrosion additives, etc., can be used as water-soluble paint base materials, synthetic resin solvents, etc.
LUPRAGEN N 101 is used as dye intermediates, fabric dye assistants and preservatives, and also used Pharmaceutical industry.

LUPRAGEN N 101 is used in ion exchange resins, polyurethane catalysts, medicine (local anesthetic tetracaine hydrochloride, antihistamines, antispasmodics and antihypertensive drugs, etc.), emulsifiers, textile auxiliaries, corrosion inhibitors, Anti-scaling agent, dye and paint solvent, synthetic 763 resin and LUPRAGEN N 101 curing agent, etc.
Also used as fuel oil additive, as an acrylic acid derivative and used as a flocculant in urban water purification plants.

In Japan, 50% of LUPRAGEN N 101 is used for ion exchange resins, 13.8% is used for polyurethane catalysts, and coatings account for 11.2%.
LUPRAGEN N 101 is used as anti-inhibitors, dye intermediates, fabric dyeing aids, preservatives in the pharmaceutical industry, and resin raw materials.

Methods of Manufacturing of LUPRAGEN N 101:
1. The ethylene oxide method is obtained by amination of dimethylamine and ethylene oxide through distillation, rectification and dehydration.

2. The chloroethanol method is saponified from chloroethanol and alkali to generate ethylene oxide, and then synthesized with dimethylamine to obtain dimethylaminoethanol.
Industrial product dimethylaminoethanol, purity ≥95%.

Raw material consumption quota: chloroethanol (32%) 5500kg/t, dimethylamine (40%) 2200kg/t.
During production, chloroethanol can also be directly added dropwise to dimethylamine, with a yield of 85%.
