LUWOMAXX DCBS

CAS Number: 4979-32-2
EC Number: 225-625-8

LUVOMAXX DCBS is used by consumers, in articles, by professional workers (widespread uses), in formulation or re-packing, at industrial sites and in manufacturing.

Uses of LUWOMAXX DCBS:
LUVOMAXX DCBS is used in the following areas: formulation of mixtures and/or re-packaging.
LUVOMAXX DCBS is used for the manufacture of: rubber products and plastic products.

LUVOMAXX DCBS is exclusively used as vulcanization accelerator in rubber goods manufacture.
Vulcanization transforms the rubber from the thermoplastic into the elastomeric state at temperatures between 150 and 200 °C.
LUVOMAXX DCBS is loaded to the rubber in concentrations of 0.5– 1% (ww) but LUWOMAXX DCBS breaks down during the curing process.

Beside LUVOMAXX DCBS, other benzothiazole sulphenamides are used as curing agents.
During vulcanization the unstable sulphur-nitrogen link of benzothiazole sulphenamides is split and in a complex reaction sequence the rubber molecules are vulcanized with an intermediate formation of a 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT) radical.

Products resulting from the process are basic amines, MBT (partly bound as “pending group”) and secondary reaction products.
The breakdown products are according to experimental data partly included into the rubber matrix and partly released in vulcanization fumes.

The most important products of rubber industry are automobile tires which take about 2/3 of the total rubber production.
The remaining rubber is used for various types of “rubber goods”.
Of these rubber goods, 65 % of the volume is used in the automotive branch.

Other release to the environment of LUVOMAXX DCBS is likely to occur from: outdoor use resulting in inclusion into or onto a materials (e.g. binding agent in paints and coatings or adhesives), outdoor use in long-life materials with low release rate (e.g. metal, wooden and plastic construction and building materials), outdoor use in long-life materials with high release rate (e.g. tyres, treated wooden products, treated textile and fabric, brake pads in trucks or cars, sanding of buildings (bridges, facades) or vehicles (ships)) and indoor use in long-life materials with low release rate (e.g. flooring, furniture, toys, construction materials, curtains, foot-wear, leather products, paper and cardboard products, electronic equipment).
LUVOMAXX DCBS is approved for use within allergenic epicutaneous patch tests which are indicated for use as an aid in the diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) in persons 6 years of age and older.

Rubber Accelerator DCBS , also known as DZ, is a subsulfonamide accelerator with excellent scorch resistance.
LUVOMAXX DCBS can be used in natural rubber and synthetic rubber.
LUVOMAXX DCBS is suitable for manufacturing thick tire, rubber belt, shockproof products, etc.

LUVOMAXX DCBS is a subsulfonamide accelerator with excellent anti-coke performance and delayed curing effect.
LUVOMAXX DCBS is compatible with natural and synthetic rubber, suitable for rubber belts and shock absorbers, radial tires, etc.
In particular, LUVOMAXX DCBS has good adhesion to metals.

A total market volume of 20 000 t/a is assumed in this assessment.
LUVOMAXX DCBS and other benzothiazole sulphenamides are obtained by oxidation of a mixture of MBT or NaMBT and cyclohexylamine or other amines.

Consumer Uses of LUWOMAXX DCBS:
