Nonylphenol, ethoxylated is nonionic surfactants which are produced due to increase of oxide ethylene gas to nonylphenol. 
Nonylphenol ethoxylated is named as NPE and therefore these are attributed based on added oxide ethylene gas number to NPE20, NPE10, NPE6 and these are viscose liquids and the higher grades are in solid formation.
The products of these Nonylphenol, ethoxylated are the water emulsifiers in oil or in reverse, the humidifier and lubricant and proper distributor with high stability. 


These nonylphenol ethoxylated or NPE are used in various fields as the detergent material formulation, industrial emulsifiers, resins and colors, emulsion polymerization. 
These components have application where there is necessity for the surface activity enhancement. 
These materials washing, emulsifying and solving power is very great.

The high-mole ethoxylates greater than 7 moles & above usually are soluble in water & also soluble in most Polar solvents. 
In general, with increase in the ethylene oxide chain attached to Nonylphenol hydrophobe increases the HLB value (water solubility), pour point, cloud point, density, viscosity, and flash point of the ethoxylate.
