NP 40  

NP 40 is a nonionic surfactant finding application in various agricultural applications, including detergents, sanitizers, industrial cleaners, metal cleaners, textiles, and paper deinking.


NP 40 is an emulsifier used to polymerize vinyl acetate with other vinyl esters, acrylates, vinyl chloride, and ethylene for acrylic and styrene / acrylic dispersions and butadiene/styrene latex.

NP 40 reduces coagulation and improves electrolyte resistance and freeze/thaw stability in emulsion polymerization.

NP 40 is added either during or after polymerization.

NP 40 is also used as dispersing and wetting agent in pigment preparations, paints, and coatings.

NP 40 by ATAMAN CHEMICALS acts as a dispersing agent, wetting agent, and emulsifier. NP 40 by ATAMAN is suitable for adhesives.

NP 40 is compatible with nonionic, anionic, or cationic substances.

NP 40 has excellent resistance to compounds that cause hard water and metal salts, including heavy metals, acids, alkalis, reductive agents, and oxidative agents based on peroxide. 


NP 40 is a non-ionic surfactant used in wetting agents and stabilizers, emulsifiers and dispersants, cleaners and detergents, and agrochemicals; Highly water soluble, low odor, and suitable for use at higher temperatures​​​​​.

NP 40 is soluble in chlorinated solvents and most polar solvents, and it is chemically stable in the presence of dilute acids, bases, and salts.
 

NP 40 is compatible with soaps, anionic and other nonionic surfactants, and many organic solvents.

NP 40 is a non-ionic surfactant that is neutral; it does not have any charge on its hydrophilic end. 

NP 40 is very good at emulsifying oils and better than anionic surfactants at removing organic soils. 

The two are frequently used together to create dual-action, multi-purpose cleaners that can not only lift and suspend particulate soils, but also emulsify oily soils.


NP 40 and other Nonionic surfactants have a property called a cloud point. 

The cloud point is the temperature at which NP 40 begins to separate from the cleaning solution, called phase separation. 
When this occurs, the cleaning solution becomes cloudy. This is considered the temperature for optimal detergency.
