ORANGE TERPENE

Orange Terpene is used as a solvent for cleaning purposes, such as the removal of oil from machine parts, as it is produced from a renewable source (citrus oil, as a byproduct of orange juice manufacture).
Orange Terpene is used as a paint stripper and is also useful as a fragrant alternative to turpentine.
Orange Terpene is also used as a solvent in some model airplane glues and as a constituent in some paints.

Commercial air fresheners, with air propellants, containing Orange Terpene are used by philatelists to remove self-adhesive postage stamps from envelope paper.
Orange Terpene is also used as a solvent for filament-fused 3D printing.
Printers can print the plastic of choice for the model, but erect supports and binders from HIPS, a polystyrene plastic that is easily soluble in limonene.
As Orange Terpene is combustible, limonene has also been considered as a biofuel.
Extractives and their physically modified derivatives such as tinctures, concretes, absolutes, essential oils, oleoresins, terpenes, terpene-free fractions, distillates, residues, etc., obtained from Citrus sinensis, Rutaceae.
Orange Terpene is a 100% bio-based product produced by high vacuum fractional
distillation of orange oils.
By the nature of the manufacturing method, odor, purity, moisture, and color
can be carefully controlled yielding a consistent product.
Orange Terpene is considered food grade and finds use in variety of household, institutional and
industrial cleaning compounds as well as flavor and fragrance additives.
Orange Terpene has benefits over many other solvents due to its excellent solvency, high degree of biodegradability and derivation from renewable resources.
Chemically similar but organoleptically superior to Orange Terpene, the terpenes are by-products of the concentration of orange oil through vacuum distillation.
The price depends on the demand for folded oils, giving manufacturers the choice to allocate the production costs to the terpenes or to the folded oils to accommodate the demand.

Orange Terpene is a natural volatile oil extracted from the mature peel of the Rutaceae plant Citrus sinensis, usually prepared by cold pressing (suitable for fresh peel) or steam distillation (suitable for dried peel).
Orange Terpene's appearance is a transparent to light yellow flowing liquid, with a fresh fruity aroma unique to citrus fruits, a bright and slightly bitter aftertaste, and this aroma mainly comes from the rich volatile components in the skin.

From the perspective of composition, the core components of Orange Terpene are monoterpenes, among which limonene (with a content of over 90%) is the most important component, giving Orange Terpene a typical citrus aroma; In addition, Orange Terpene also contains terpenes such as α – pinene, β – pinene, and laurene, as well as alcohols such as linalool and nerol, esters such as ethyl acetate and linalool acetate, and aldehydes such as citral.
These components not only constitute the aroma skeleton of Orange Terpene, but their natural chemical structure also gives it certain physical properties, such as a density of about 0.84-0.88 g/cm ³, a refractive index of 1.47-1.49, and are easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether, but difficult to dissolve in water.

Uses
Orange Terpene is primarily used in perfumery. orange oil’s botanical properties in skin care are considered anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-spasmodic, and sedative, making it suitable for sensitive, delicate skin.

Used very extensively in perfume compositions as a refreshing top-note, particularly in the large-volume type of fragrances for household products, where the Citrus-odour is desirable or at least compatible with the product and the purpose.
Orange Terpene may give lift without giving a true Orange character, and it can therefore be used in a multitude of fragrance types, including floral types from Jasmine to Lavender, and in Pine, aldehydic, woody, fruity or green odours.
In detergent perfumes it is often found together with Benzyl acetate.
Orange Terpene has the added advantage of being colourless.
Orange Terpene is often annoying to introduce an intensive yellow or orange colour when cold-pressed sweet Orange oil is used in Citrus fragrances.

•Household Cleaning
Orange Terpene has a strong dissolving ability and performs well in the field of household cleaning.
Orange Terpene can effectively dissolve grease, wax stains and colloids, remove adhesive residues, and can be used as a natural detergent to clean kitchen stoves, range hoods and other oil-stricken areas.
Orange Terpene can also wipe furniture and floors, forming a protective film while cleaning to make the surface bright and new.
Orange Terpene's natural ingredients are friendly to the human body and the environment.
Compared with chemical cleaners, Orange Terpene is more suitable for families with elderly people, children and pets.

•Industrial Solvents
In industrial production, Orange Terpene can be used as an environmentally friendly organic solvent to replace traditional petrochemical solvents.
Due to its good solubility and volatility, Orange Terpene can be used in industries such as coatings and inks to help dissolve resins, pigments and other ingredients, and improve the coating performance and drying speed of products; in the field of metal processing, Orange Terpene can be used as a cutting fluid and cleaning agent to effectively remove oil and debris on the metal surface, and at the same time has a certain anti-rust effect.
Orange Terpene's biodegradable characteristics can reduce the pressure of industrial wastewater treatment and conform to the concept of sustainable development.

•Food Seasoning
Orange Terpene is an important natural flavor in the food industry.
Orange Terpene can add rich orange flavor to candies, beverages, baked goods, etc., and enhance the taste and aroma of the product.
Adding a small amount of Orange Terpene when making jelly and jam can give the product a fresh fruity aroma; when used in baking pastries, it can make bread and cakes emit an attractive orange aroma, stimulating consumers’ appetite.
Because Orange Terpene is extracted from natural peels, it meets the food industry’s pursuit of natural and healthy ingredients and is widely used in various food processing scenarios.

Compared with chemical pesticides, Orange Terpene has less residue and is environmentally friendly, which helps to develop organic agriculture and ensure the safety of agricultural products.

•Pharmaceutical Field
In the pharmaceutical industry, Orange Terpene can be used as a pharmaceutical excipient.
On the one hand, Orange Terpene can improve the smell and taste of drug preparations, especially for children, and reduce resistance to taking medicine; on the other hand, because Orange Terpene has a certain effect of promoting transdermal absorption, it can be added when preparing external preparations such as ointments and patches to help drugs better pass through the skin barrier, improve the bioavailability of drugs, and enhance the therapeutic effect.
