Description    
Parmetol K 6 metalwork fluid is a mixture of the two isothiazoliones contained in Kathon CG, at a 13.9% concentration. 
Parmetol K 6 is mainly contained in metalwork fluids. 
As an active component of Aigezid Ⅱ and contained in a water bath used for phtotographic development, Parmetol K 6 caused contact dermatitis in a photograph developer.
Parmetol K 6 is a mixture of isothiazolinone-derived biocides. 
Parmetol K 6 is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria with MIC values of 0.0002, 0.0002, 0.00005, and 0.00005% (w/w) for S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, A. niger, and C. albicans, respectively. 
Parmetol K 6 can elicit contact sensitization. 
Formulations containing Parmetol K 6 have been used for controlling microbial growth in industrial and household products.

Uses    
Antimicrobial preservative in cosmetics, hygeine products, paints, emulsions, cutting oils, paper coatings, and water storage and cooling units.
Parmetol K 6 has good efficacy in killing and stripping fungi, bacteria, algae, mollusks and slime. 
In the use of content, Parmetol K 6 can be naturally degraded into non-toxic substances, the environment does not produce pollution. 
Good miscibility, Parmetol K 6 can be mixed with chlorine and other oxidizing fungicides, scale inhibitors and dispersants, most cationic surfactants, anionic surfactants and non-ionic surfactants and play a synergistic effect, and quaternary ammonium salt compound use effect is better. 
Parmetol K 6 can pass through the surface layer of the slime and kill the bacteria and algae in the slime, and can prevent the formation of the slime in the cooling water system. 
Parmetol K 6 has excellent bactericidal effect in a wide pH range and is effective in both acidic and alkaline water. 
Parmetol K 6 can be widely used in paper mill cooling water, oil field water injection, metal processing oil, latex, fiber and coating and other mold. 
However, Parmetol K 6 cannot be used in cooling water systems containing sulfide.

Preparation Method
Parmetol K 6 is subjected to aminolysis reaction with methylamine to form N.N'-= methyldithiodipropionamide, and then reacted with chlorine in ethyl acetate solution, and Parmetol K 6 is obtained by filtration, washing and drying. 
The ratio of the two active components in Parmetol K 6 has a great influence on the performance of the product.
