PEG 10000 acts as a solubilizer, carrier substance, viscosifier, softener, binding and moisturizing agent.
PEG 10000 leaves a pleasant feel on the skin.
PEG 10000 shows good compatibility with cetyl alcohol, glycerol, stearic acid, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, casein and vegetable albumin.
PEG 10000 shows no emulsifying effect.
PEG 10000 is used in hair styling and conditioner products.
Product properties of PEG 10000:
PEG 10000 is a white waxy solid at room temperature.
PEG 10000 S is a flaked type, PEG 10000 P a powdered type available in 20 kg bags (S) or 25 kg bags (P) or super sacs with up to 500 kg capacity.
PEG 10000 FL can be supplied as melt in heated tank trucks.
PEG 10000's two hydroxy end groups as well as its ether groups mainly control the physical and chemical properties of PEG 10000.
Therefore PEG 10000 is soluble in water and polar organic solvents like aceton or methanol.
PEG 10000 is insoluble in pure hydrocarbons.
PEG 10000 FL is a white waxy melt polyethylene glycol at 60-80°C.
PEG 10000 is insoluble in pure hydrocarbons while soluble in water and polar organic solvents like acetone or methanol.
PEG 10000 displays typical chemical reactions of alcohol/diols.
PEG 10000 is recommended as a humectant, plasticizer, lucricant, and solvent in numerous applications across several industries.
PEG 10000 displays typical chemical reactions of alcohols/diols.
The solidification point, of PEG 10000 is about 58°C.
Storage of PEG 10000:
When stored in a cold, dry place in a closed container PEG 10000 S and 10000 P can be kept for at least two years.
PEG 10000 FL melt has to be stored under a nitrogen blanket at 60-80°C.
Storage time of the melt shall not exceed 2-3 month.
Applications of PEG 10000:
Based on their physical and chemical characteristics polyethylene glycols are used for a wide variety of applications.
Fields of applications of PEG 10000:
- Reactive diol/polyether component in polyester or polyurethene resins
- Component of auxiliaries for leather and textile processing
