POLYGLYKOL M 350

Polyglykol M 350
Polyglykol M 350 PU

Composition of Polyglykol M 350:
Monomethoxy polyethylene glycol
CH3(OCH2CH2)nOH

CAS Number: 9004-74-4

INCI-designation: Methoxy PEG-7

Polyglykol M 350 is a linear, mono hydroxy-functional polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (M-PEG) that is completely water soluble.
Polyglykol M 350 is esterified with methacrylic acid to yield the corresponding polyglycol mono methacrylates which are used for the polymerization of polycarboxylate superplasticizers.

Polyglykol M 350 is a linear, mono hydroxy-functional polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (M-PEG).
Polyglykol M 350 has low diol content to limit formation of crosslinking diesters.

When reacted with unsaturated monomers like acrylic or methacrylic acid, esters are formed which can be copolymerized in order to increase hydrophilicity and improves dispersing properties of polymers in water.

Polyglykol M 350 is a monomethoxy polyethylene glycol with a molecular weight of 330 – 370g/mol. It is a clear neutral liquid at room temperature.
Polyglykol M 350 can be supplied in tank trucks or in steel drums.
Polyglykol M 350 can be considered as high molecular alcohol and therefore displays typical chemical reactions of alcohols.

M-type polyglycols are used for a wide variety of chemical reactions.
With isocyanates and polyester they act as endcapping and hydrophilic component.

When reacted with unsaturated monomers like acrylic or methacrylic acid esters are formed which can be copolymerisized in order to increase hydrophilicity and improve dispersing properties of polymers in water.
Polyglykol M 350 is also available as Polyglykol M 350 Terra, providing the same performance as its conventional counterpart and benefiting from a REDCert2 and ISCC Plus certified supply chain ensuring the use of biobased or renewable raw materials resulting in a significantly reduced carbon footprint and an RCI 91.3%.

Applications of Polyglykol M 350:
Polyglykol M 350 is the raw material for 3rd generation superplasticizers.
Polyglykol M 350 is also used as a chemical intermediate for paint additives.
