Superplasticizer

Product properties of Polyglykol M 5000:
Polyglykol M 5000 is a waxy white to slightly yellowish solid at room temperature with only very light smell.
Polyglykol M 5000 is available as (M 5000 S) or as melt (M 5000 fl) supplied in heated tank truck.
Polyglycol M 5000 is soluble in water and common used organic solvents like Aceton, Methanol Polyglykol M 5000 can be considered as high molecular alcohol and therefore displays typical chemical reactions of alcohols.

Storage of Polyglykol M 5000:
When stored in a cold, dry place in a closed container Polyglykol M 5000 S can be kept for at least two years.

Applications of Polyglykol M 5000:
M-type polyglycols are used for a wide variety of chemical reactions.
With isocyanates and polyester they act as endcapping and hydrophilic component.

When reacted with unsaturated monomers like acrylic or methacrylic acid esters are formed which can be copolymerisized in order to increase hydrophilicity and improve dispersing properties of polymers in water.
Due to the low concentration of diols in polyglycol M- types there is almost no formation of di-esters during the reaction with acrylic or methacrylic acid.
In the USA some M-type polyglycols are used for pharmaceutical applications.
