POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE DISPERSIONS
DESCRIPTION
Dispercoll® U is an aqueous anionic dispersion of high molecular weight polyurethane. It is a raw material for the production of thermally activated adhesives for use in the furniture, automotive, footwear and construction industries, for example. Dispercoll® U has a high solids content and is especially suitable for bonding plasticized PVC.
Urethane aqueous dispersions solve a number of both environmental problems:
environment protection;
excellent production hygiene;
improving industrial safety;
low capital investment and cost-effective to use (does not require solvent regeneration and special rooms);
ease of manufacture (for example, low viscosity with high polymer content);
high adhesion properties (high initial and final bond strength);
low activation temperature: 50-80 degrees.
The main advantage of aqueous dispersions of polyurethanes in comparison with solution systems of urethane rubbers is the independence of the viscosity of the dispersion from the molecular weight of the polymer.
Urethane dispersions can be used in one-component or two-component versions using isocyanate hardeners.
