Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen are added to cosmetics and personal care products to enhance the appearance and feel of hair, by increasing hair body, suppleness, or sheen, or by improving the texture of hair that has been damaged physically or by chemical treatment.
These ingredients are also used to enhance the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness, and they clean the skin and hair by helping water to mix with oil and dirt so that they can be rinsed away.
In cosmetics and personal care products, Potassium Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen and TEA-Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen are used in the formulation of bath, skin cleansing, shaving and hair products, perfumes and shampoos.

Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen is a collagen condensate co-surfactant suitable for mild shower and foam baths as well as shampoos and body cleansers.
Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen is an acylated derivative type of hydrolyzed fish scale collagen.
It has detergent and great foaming properties and can wash the skin and the hair while providing repairs.

Fish collagen is well-known for its excellent moisturizing properties that improves skin and hair softness.
As such, it can make a good alternative to swine and bovine collagen if needed.
Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen series is a range of peptides and derivatives obtained through hydrolysis of natural proteins.

The name component "cocoyl" means that the ingredient contains, as fatty acid components, amongst others, fatty acids from coconut oil (cocos nucifera oil) (mostly introduced via an acylation reaction).
"Hydrolyzed" means: hydrolysed or a hydrolysate (product of the separation of a chemical compound by reaction with water, often by means of enzymes).

As a co-surfactant, Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen clearly improves the skin and eye mucosa compatibility of basic surfactants and/or surfactant systems.
To counter this process, anti-ageing products use special active ingredient combinations which have caring, moisturising and skin renewing properties.
Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen has proven to be a good hydroscopic agent and moisturiser in these active ingredient complexes.

Because of its water-binding properties, the active ingredient is increasingly also used in products such as lipsticks.
To promote and accelerate the natural regeneration process of the skin, collagen fragments are, moreover, used in the form of so-called polycollagen peptides in care products.
These imitate the naturally occurring collagen fragments and hence support the repair process of the skin.

The result of this care is a rapid mitigation of lines and wrinkles; the complexion and elasticity of the skin are significantly improved.

Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen is used in mild shower, foam baths, shampoos and body cleansers.
"Potassium" means the element potassium, "cocoyl" the fatty acid component, fatty acids from coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil), "hydrolyzed collagen", hydrolyzed animal collagen.

Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen is used in cosmetic formulations.
Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, for example of hair) and as a combability aid (reduces or prevents tangling of the hair due to changes or damage on the hair surface, thus improving combability) and as a surfactant (washing-active substance; improves the even distribution of the products during application).

Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen is a gentle, skin-friendly surfactant commonly used in personal care and cosmetic products.
It’s a compound derived from two primary ingredients:
The “cocoyl” part is derived from coconut oil, which is rich in fatty acids.

This part contributes to the product's cleansing and foaming properties while being less harsh than conventional surfactants.
Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen is a protein found in skin, hair, and nails. In this ingredient, collagen is hydrolyzed, meaning it’s broken down into smaller peptides for easier absorption and better compatibility with skin.
Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen adds moisturizing and conditioning properties to the product.

When combined, Potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen provides a mild, moisturizing cleansing action that’s less likely to strip natural oils from the skin.
It’s often used in shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers to offer a gentle, nourishing effect, especially for sensitive or dry skin types.
This ingredient can help improve the skin’s softness and elasticity while delivering effective yet gentle cleansing.
