Potassium persulfate PPS is an essential component of bleaching formulations for hair cosmetics.
For drinking water applications, the optimum dosing must be max. 43 mg/L.

Polymerization:
Initiator for the emulsion or solution polymerization of acrylic monomers, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride etc. and for the emulsion copolymerization of styrene, acrylonitrile, butadiene etc.

The sodium and potassium salts are very similar.

Preparation of Potassium Persulfate PPS:
Potassium persulfate PPS can be prepared by electrolysis of a cold solution potassium bisulfate in sulfuric acid at a high current density.
