PREVENTOL D 7 LT

CAS: 55965-84-9
EC number: 911-418-6

DESCRIPTION:

PREVENTOL D 7 LT is Aqueous formulation of Isothiazolinones (CMIT/MIT monovalent).
PREVENTOL D 7 LT is used For the preservation of aqueous industrial products such as polymer dispersions, aqueous coatings and filler suspensions.
Especially PREVENTOL D 7 LT is suitable for coagulation-sensitive products, as PREVENTOL D 7 LT is free from bivalent salts.

The spectrum of activity covers bacteria, including formaldehyde-resistant species, mould, yeast and algae.
PREVENTOL D 7 LT is Liquid preparation of 5-Chloro-2-methly-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) and 2-Methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one(MIT).
Preventol D 7 LT is a versatile, easy to use, low viscosity, in-can preservative based on monovalently stabilized isothiazolinones.

Preventol D 7 LT offers broad spectrum of activity against bacteria, including formaldehyde-resistant species, fungi, yeast & algae.
Preventol D 7 LT possesses good compatibility.
Preventol D 7 LT is used for the preservation of aqueous coatings.

Preventol D 7 LT is stable over pH range of 2.5-9.0.
The shelf life of Preventol D 7 LT is one year.

Preventol D7 LT is a liquid version CMIT/MIT for industrial use as a preservative to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and yeast in polymer emulsions, aqueous compositions and pigment/mineral slurries.
Preventol D7 LT is designed for coagulation sensitive products which are sensitive to multivalent salts.

APPLICATIONS OF PREVENTOL D 7 LT:
Adhesives & Sealants
Architectural coatings
Concrete Admixtures
Construction material
Mineral Slurries
Paints & Coatings In-Can Preservation
Polymer Emulsions

Preventol D 7 LT is readily incorporated into formulations and is compatible with surfactants and emulsifiers regardless of their ionic nature.
Preventol D 7 LT will not adversely affect product physical properties or performance and should not impart odor or color to most final products.

Preventol D 7 LT can be incorporated at any stage of the production process but is best to add it in the initial stage.
However, if higher temperatures (>104 °F / 40 °C) , the presence of highly reactive components, or pH values >9 occur during the manufacturing process the product should be added at the end of the process or to the finished product below critical conditions.
In this case, take care to distribute the preservative uniformly in order to ensure homogeneous mixture of the product in the water.
Since Preventol D 7 LT has a low viscosity, the product can be added directly or pre-dissolved in water.

The use of the monovalent stabilized Preventol D 7 LT in an aqueous formulation does not generally cause any undesirable stability issues.
Even sensitive polymer emulsions, which tend to coagulate when multivalent metal salts are added to the formulation, can be easily preserved with the Preventol D 7 LT.

The approved dosage level ranges are provided in the chapter "Directions for Use" further below, but variables sucha as pH, Temperature, redox potential, initial microbial count and intended storage time of the product to be preserved should be taken into account.

MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY:
Preventol D 7 LT is compatible with high quality stainless steel.
Compatibility tests are recommended for other metallic materials.

Plastic materials like, PE, HDPE, and PTFE are compatible and suitable for handling and storage of Preventol D 7 LT.
As with any product, use of the product mentioned in this publication in a given application must be tested (including field testing, etc.) by the user in advance to determine suitability.
