Uses
Provichem 0321 is a degradation product of Bis(2-Chloroethyl) Ether.
Provichem 0321 is a potential genotoxic impurity (PGI) in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
Provichem 0321 is employed in the preparation of o-nitrophenylbromoacetaldehyde bis-2-(2-chloroethoxy)-ethyl acetal, quetiapine and 2-(2-azidoethoxy)ethanol.
Provichem 0321 is used in the preparation of industrial chemicals such as piperazine, azobenzene, and caproic acid.
Provichem 0321 is also used in the synthesis of blood group antigens.
The oxygen atoms of the methylene group are involved in intramolecular hydrogen bonds with the carbonyl group and the hydroxyl groups.
The phase transition temperature for Provichem 0321 is between −30°C and −10°C, which makes it useful for magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
