PROVICHEM 220P

Provichem 220P is an anionic water soluble polymer.
Provichem 220P is used as a scale inhibitor in oil recovery operations, in cooling water systems and steam production.
Provichem 220P can also be applied as an anionic poly-electrolyte (e.g. protective coating), as a dispersant and as a rheology modifier.

CAS:    25053-27-4
MF:    C2H4O3S
MW:    108.11

Provichem 220P is an excellent additive in drilling fluids.
Provichem 220P inhibits the formation of calcium, magnesium and barium sulfates in enhanced oil recovery operations.
Additionally, Provichem 220P greatly enhances the viscosity of the aqueous solution in combination with xanthum gum for the recovery of viscous crude oil.

Provichem 220P retains performance at high temperature, high pressure, and high salt concentrations making it the compound of choice for oil drilling applications.
For example, the required dosage of Provichem 220P, for scale inhibition in carbon dioxide miscible floods, is up to ten times lower than comparative molecules (phosphonates and acrylic acid polymers) at a typical low pH value.

Provichem 220P can be used:
In the preparation of superabsorbent semi-IPN (interpenetrating polymer network) hydrogel.
As a solid electrolyte for proton conduction in the fabrication of an all-solid-supercapacitor.
As a crystallization controlling agent in the preparation of high-quality crystals of porous coordination polymers(CP).
Provichem 220P regulates not only the size and structure of the crystals but also their preference orientation, resulting in CP channel alignment in the bulk powdery state.
