PVP/VA Copolymer forms a film on the surface to trap and retain moisture for longer durations.
PVP/VA Copolymer is found primarily in most hair care products, mascaras, nail polishes and also some skin care products.
The full form of PVP/VA Copolymer is vinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer, which appears as a white powder in its raw form.
PVP/VA Copolymer resins are linear, random copolymers produced by the free-radical polymerization of the monomers in ratios varying from 70/30 to 30/70 vinyl acetate to vinylpyrrolidone.
PVP/VA Copolymer are available as white powders or clear solutions in ethanol, isopropanol and water.
Polymers in the four ranges of vinylpyrrolidone content (30, 50, 60 and 70 percent), are produced in ethanol or isopropanol.
PVP/VA Copolymer with 60 and 70 percent vinylpyrrolidone content are available as solids or as 50 percent aqueous solutions.
PVP/VA Copolymer has good compatibility with many modifiers, plasticizers, spray propellants and other cosmetic ingredients.
PVP/VA Copolymer is a water-soluble polymer resin, which is a white powder, odorless and tasteless, easy to absorb moisture, soluble in water, ethanol and anhydrous alcohols, and has good adhesion, hygroscopicity and film-forming properties. and surface activity.

PVP/VA Copolymer is mainly used as a water-soluble adhesive and dry adhesive in granulation and direct compression technology, as a film-forming material in film coating, and as a channel former in taste-masking agents.
PVP/VA Copolymer is applied to the sugar coating to prevent splintering, and the bottom coating is used to prevent moisture.
Industrial fields: PVP/VA Copolymer is used in industry as rewetting adhesives, adhesives for paper, adhesives for coatings, thickeners and protective colloids for various inks, emulsifiers commonly used in plant protection agents and protective colloid.

PVP/VA Copolymer is a white to yellowish-white amorphous powder.
PVP/VA Copolymer is typically spray-dried with a relatively fine particle size.
PVP/VA Copolymer has a slight odor and a faint taste.
PVP/VA Copolymer is a water-soluble polymer used to improve the uptake and drug loading of various pharmaceutical agents, including contraceptive patches.

Pharmaceutical Applications
PVP/VA Copolymer is used as a tablet binder, a film-former, and as part of the matrix material used in controlled-release formulations.
In tableting, copovidone can be used as a binder for direct compression and as a binder in wet granulation.
PVP/VA Copolymer is often added to coating solutions as a film-forming agent.
PVP/VA Copolymer provides good adhesion, elasticity, and hardness, and can be used as a moisture barrier.

Production Methods
PVP/VA Copolymer is manufactured by free-radical polymerization of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate in a ratio of 6 : 4.
The synthesis is conducted in an organic solvent owing to the insolubility of vinyl acetate in water.
