Adhesives or adhesives are substances or mixtures, as well as multicomponent compositions based on organic or inorganic substances, capable of joining (gluing) various materials - in particular, wood, leather, paper, fabrics, glass, ceramics, metals, plastics, rubber.
By nature, adhesives are divided into inorganic, natural, synthetic. There are the following types of adhesives:
by film-forming substance - resin and rubber
by adhesion properties - universal, gluing various materials (for example, BF adhesives) and with selective adhesion (proteinaceous, rubber)
in relation to heating - reversible (thermoplastic) and irreversible (thermostable) films
according to curing conditions - cold bonding and hot bonding.
Silanes: Silanes are used in coatings as adhesion promoters for various substrates. They are used as an additive to the paint system or the substrate is pre-primed with silane.
