GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is lead chromate (PbCrO4).
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is orange-red.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigments may exist as a lemon yellow rhombic form, a reddish yellow monoclinic form, and a scarlet tetragonal form, but only the monoclinic form is stable at room temperature.

Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigments are produced by heating lead chromate with alkali.
The difference in the two colors is related to particle size.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is a mixture of chrome yellow.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is a brilliant orange made of lead chromate and lead molybdate and used in plastics, protective coatings and printing inks, but rarely in artists' paints.

Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is a brilliant orange pigment made by coprecipitation of lead chromate and lead molybdate often in the presence of lead sulfate and used in plastics, protective coatings and printing inks.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment has been widely used in coatings and plastics for many decades during the 20th century because of its bright color and high hiding power.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigments use in coatings and plastics today is currently restricted in several countries due to the lead and chrome content in its composition.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment had a brief history of use by artists for several decades in the last century.

Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment forms orange to red tetragonal mixed-phase pigments with lead sulfochromate.
The composition of Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigments can be varied to give the required color properties.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment has been classified as Pigment Red 104 and number 77605 in the Colour Index, a directory of pigments and dyes published by the UK Society of Dyers and Colourists and the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment has not been rated for lightfastness by the ASTM, but independent studies have shown that this grade has good resistance to light, weathering, high temperatures and sulfur dioxide and can be used with all other pigments without alteration.

Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is an opaque, highly staining, intense reddish orange pigment.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is an opaque pigment with excellent tinting strength and exhibits very good resistance to light.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment absorbs a moderate amount of oil; about 27 grams of linseed oil per 100 grams of pigment to make a paste.

Stabilized grades of Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment have a low binder demand; good dispersibility, hiding power, and tinting strength; and are very high lightfastness and weather resistance.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is also popularly known as Scarlet Chrome.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is highly stabilized and offers very good resistance to light and weather.
Scarlet Molybdate Orange pigment is used in a range of applications such as high quality industrial paints, automotive OEM paints, latex paints, water-based coatings, solvent-based coatings and metal decorative inks.
