SILICA MATTING AGENT

Silica Matting Agent for coating AD-402 is an amorphous silica appearing as white free flowing powder.
Silica Matting Agent has such unique properties like excellent transparency and mattability, good anti-yellowing and anti-settling effect, which makes it suitable for matt coating requiring high transparency and mattability as well as good anti-yellowing and anti-settling properties.
After coating the substrate surface with matting agent, Silica Matting Agent is evenly distributed in the wet coating.

Synonyms
LUDOX(R) TMA COLLOIDAL SILICA;LUDOX(R) AM-30 COLLOIDAL SILICA;LUDOX(R) AS-30 COLLOIDAL SILICA;LUDOX(R) AS-40 COLLOIDAL SILICA;LUDOX(R) CL COLLOIDAL SILICA;LUDOX(R) CL-X COLLOIDAL SILICA;LUDOX(R) HS-30 COLLOIDAL SILICA;LUDOX(R) HS-40 COLLODIAL SILICA

With the evaporation of solvent, the thickness of the coating gradually decreases, and the coating shrinks.
The shrinkage rate of Silica Matting Agent is slower than that of the coating, forming a micro uneven paint on the surface of the coating.
A fine, white, free flowing micronized silica gel with an average particle size of less than 3 microns.
Used in concentrations of 0.05% to 5% by weight to matt lacquers and glazes.
The use of a high speed mixer for dispersing it is recommended.
Can be incorporated as a thickening agent in a wide range of products including epoxy resin systems and silicone rubber.
The Silica Matting Agentis prepared by hydrothermal treatment of colloidal silica.
The silica produced after hydrothermal process is having relatively soft morphology.
By treatment the silica surface can be partially modified with organic (waxes) or inorganic material for better dispersion in the reaction medium.
Silica Matting Agent offer exceptional performance when used in wood coatings, coil and general industrial coatings, and architectural coatings.
