SIPERNAT D 10 is used as a rheological additive. 
SIPERNAT D 10 is a milled & hydrophobic silica with high methanol wettability and low surface area.

SIPERNAT represents a specific product range of precipitated silica, aluminium and calcium silicates.

SIPERNAT D 10 is a milled, hydrophobic (i. e. not wettable by water) silica, high methanol wettability and low surface area.


Properties and applications
SIPERNAT D 10 is used in a great variety of defoamer due to its high effectiveness and ease of dispersion.


Sipernat D-10 is a very fine particle hydrophobic silica.
Sipernat D-10 contains app. 3 % chemically bound carbon and is therefore not wettable with water.The wettability of Sipernat D-10 with methanol is app. 60 % and indicates its highly hydrophobic character.

Sipernat D 10 - Nature
The main component of silica gel is silica, which is a kind of amorphous silica, transparent color. 
Silicone non-toxic, odorless, acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, solvent-resistant, cooked stability. 
Do not dissolve in water and any solvent, chemical stability, in addition to strong alkali, hydrofluoric acid and no reaction with any substance. 
It has the characteristics of large specific surface area, high internal porosity and strong adsorption capacity, and is a kind of highly active adsorption material. 
The adsorption of moisture in the gas can reach 50% of its own mass.
And in the air flow with 60% humidity, the amount of moisture adsorbed by microporous silica gel can also reach 24% of the mass of silica gel. 
After adsorption of water vapor, silica gel can be regenerated by removing water by cooking desorption. 
Various types of silica gel form different microporous structures due to different manufacturing methods.


Sipernat D 10 - Preparation Method
adding acid and electrolyte to the sodium silicate solution, reacting with stirring to generate silicic acid gel, and then aging, washing, drying and activating to obtain silica gel. 
Different raw material ratio and process conditions can produce different specifications of the product.

Sipernat D 10 - Use
SIPERNAT D 10 is used as a variety of industrial gas desiccant and equipment, equipment, drugs and food, etc.; 
In the laboratory, factory workshop and public places as air humidity regulator and environmental relative humidity indicator; it is used as ion exchanger in water treatment industry; 
SIPERNAT D 10 is used for refining and separating products and dehydration and refining of organic products in petrochemical industry; In phthalic anhydride, aniline, maleic anhydride, acrylonitrile and cis-polybutadiene rubber and other chemical products used in the production of catalysts and carriers; In the atmospheric monitoring used as a carrier of toxic gases and chromatographic carriers.

Sipernat D 10 - Safety
SIPERNAT D 10 silica gel has a strong adsorption capacity, which can produce a drying effect on human skin. Therefore, it should be worn in work clothes. 
The workplace should pay attention to ventilation, control the dust content of the workshop is not more than 10 mg/m3. 
Blue silica gel often contains a small amount of cobalt chloride, should avoid contact with food. 
Silica gel in the use process application due to the adsorption of water vapor or other organic substances in the medium, the adsorption capacity decreased, can be regenerated by desorption heating after repeated use. 
Store in a cool and dry place to avoid moisture. 
It is advisable to control the temperature of desorption heating at 120~180 ℃, and it is advisable to control the temperature at 100~120 ℃ for Blue Gum indicator, color-changing silica gel and blue silica gel.


Packaging and storage

SIPERNAT silica products are inert and extremely stable chemically. 
However, due to their high specific surface area, they can absorb moisture and volatile organic compounds from the surrounding atmosphere. 
Therefore, we recommend storing the products in sealed containers in a dry, cool place, and removed from volatile organic substances. 
Even if a product is stored under these conditions, after a longer
period it can still pick up ambient moisture over time, which could lead to its exceeding the specified moisture content. 
For this reason, our recommended use-by date is 24 months after date of manufacture. 
Product more than 24 months old should be tested for moisture content before use in order to make certain that it is still suitable for the intended application.
