SIPIOL WV 21

SIPIOL WV 21 is a polyisocyanate designed for addition to SIPIOL coatings in order to cure at lower temperature.
SIPIOL WV 21 is a smooth, aqueous, two-component anti-friction coating designed specifically for off-line application during production of automotive sealing systems.

Applications of SIPIOL WV 21:

Mixing:
Suggested mix ratio, by weight, is 3% SIPIOL WV 21 curative to 100% coating.
While stirring the SIPIOL coating, slowly add SIPIOL WV 21 under continuous agitation.
Stir mixture carefully for at least 15 minutes, avoiding the formation of foam.

Working life is about 8 hours at 25°C (77°F).
SIPIOL WV 21 must not be diluted directly with water as SIPIOL WV 21 will react immediately and form a hard sticky foam.

Curing:
Cure rate is dependent on curing temperature.
Higher curing temperatures will increase the coating properties.

Features and Benefits of SIPIOL WV 21:

Abrasion Resistant:
Provides excellent abrasion resistance against rotating textile.

Durable:
Provides excellent chemical resistance and high elasticity.
Improves chemical and mechanical resistance of the coating.

Low Coefficient of Friction:
Provides a low coefficient of friction.

Noise Reduction:
Reduces noise generated when surface is in contact with coated metals and glass.

Room Temperature Cure:
Allows coatings to cure at room temperature.

Shelf Life and Storage of SIPIOL WV 21:
Shelf life is six months from date of manufacture when stored by the recipient in well ventilated area under 35°C (95°F) in original, unopened container.
During transportation to the customer the temperature restriction does not apply as long as SIPIOL WV 21 does not freeze.

Keep container tightly sealed when not in use to prevent skinning.
Do not store near direct heat sources.

Cautionary Information of SIPIOL WV 21:
Must be applied by trained personnel only.
Not to be used in household applications.
Not for consumer use.

First Aid Measures of SIPIOL WV 21:

Eye Contact:
Flush eyes immediately with large amount of water for at least 15 minutes holding eyelids  open while flushing.
Get prompt medical attention.

Skin Contact:
Flush contaminated skin with large amounts of water while removing contaminated  clothing.
Wash affected skin areas with soap and water.
Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Inhalation:
Move person to fresh air.
Restore and support continued breathing.

If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
Get immediate medical attention.

Ingestion:
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.
Call a physician or poison control center immediately for further instructions.
Never give anything by mouth if victim is rapidly losing consciousness, unconscious or convulsing.

Fire-Fighting Measures of SIPIOL WV 21:

Suitable extinguishing media:
Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, water fog, foam

Unsuitable extinguishing media:
Not determined for SIPIOL WV 21.

Specific hazards possibly arising from the chemical:
During a fire, irritating and/or toxic gases and  particulate may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.
Keep containers tightly closed.

Closed containers  may rupture when exposed to extreme heat.
Use water spray to keep fire exposed containers cool.

Special protective equipment and precautions for fire-fighters:
Wear full firefighting  protective clothing, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
If water is used, fog nozzles are preferable.
