SLSA is synthesized through the esterification of lauryl alcohol (derived from coconut or palm kernel oil) with sulfoacetic acid, followed by neutralization with sodium hydroxide. 
This process yields a sodium salt of the sulfoacetate ester, producing a solid surfactant suitable for various applications.
