SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE

SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE = Polymethacrylic acid = Poly (methacrylic acid) sodium salt

CAS no:  54193-36-1  25086-62-8
Molecular Formula: (C4H5NaO2)n

Description;
White powder with a mild odor.
Polymethacrylic acid, also known as a-methacrylate or methakrylsaeure, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as carboxylic acids.
Carboxylic acids are compounds containing a carboxylic acid group with the formula -C(=O)OH.

Polymethacrylic acid has been detected, but not quantified in, asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) and roman camomiles (Chamaemelum nobile).
This could make Polymethacrylic acid a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE is a common deflocculant used in place of sodium silicate and soda ash.

SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE is a deflocculant, meaning SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE prevents lumps from forming in clay.
SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE is a neutralized aqueuous solution of a methacrylic acid polymer.
SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE solution which is particularly effective for rapid dispersion of pigments in aqueous solutions.

SODIUM POLYMETHACRYLATE shows no particular tendency to foam and has unusually low viscosity even though supplied at 25% total solids.
Sodium polymethacrylates are also anionic and are useful as iron oxide dispersants and iron stabilizers.
Sodium polymethacrylates are recognized as being useful as iron oxide dispersants and iron stabilizers.
A typical Molecular Weight is 6000 to 10,000.
More typically, polymethacrylates now tend to be used in boiler water formulations rather than in CW formulations.
