TEGOSTAB B 8523 is an additive developed for use in rigid foam systems which are formulated for maximum open cell content. 
In these types of formulations TEGOSTAB B 8523 effectively supports cell opening.

APPLICATIONS: 
TEGOSTAB B 8523 dissolves in all polyols usually applied for manufacturing rigid polyurethane foams. 
TEGOSTAB B 8523 gives a clear solution and retains its chemical stability even in premixes which contain the blowing agent and other necessary additives such as catalysts and flame retardants. 

Apart from its good solubility TEGOSTAB B 8523 also shows improved emulsifying properties when compared to other foam stabilizers used in the rigid foam sector. 
This is especially convenient when non-polar / incompatibl blowing agents, as e. g. pentane, are applied. 

TEGOSTAB B 8523 strongly support emulsification of pentane with its low solubility in the polyol component. 
The result are rigid foams with a very fine cell structure which leads to improved λ-values.
