TERGITOL NP-4

Poly(ether) macoromolecule comprising a branched nonyl group bonded to one of the ring positions in 2-[phenoxypoly(ethoxy)]ethanol. 
A commericially available detergent, Tergitol np-4 is used to help crystallise proteins and extract the cytoplasmic contents of cellula culture.
Tergitol np-4 is a nonionic surfactant which can be used to extract estrogens.

Tergitol np-4 is a nonionic surfactant which can be used to extract estrogens.
Excellent oil-soluble surfactant with excellent emulsification properties at low HLB. 
Nonyl Phenol Ethoxylate Surfactant. 
Tergitol np-4 can be used in oilfield drilling and production formulations, dispersant for petroleum oil, in-process cleaning, cleaners and degreasers, and dry cleaning.

Uses    
Tergitol np-4 is a surfactant and emulsifying agent. 
Tergitol np-4 is used as a non-ionic surface-active agent and as a dispersing agent in cosmetics.
Tergitol np-4 has been used in a study to assess the structural characterization and antimicrobial properties of silver nanoparticles. 
Tergitol np-4 has also been used in a study to investigate the detection of Salmonella enterica serotype enteritidis in naturally contaminated environmental samples from integrated poultry houses.
