TETRASODIUM ETIDRONATE

CAS NUMBER: 3794-83-0

EC NUMBER: 223-267-7

DESCRIPTION:

Tetrasodium etidronate is a chelating agent that protects the effectiveness of the product by preventing the binding of metal ions to other components in the formulation.
Tetrasodium Etidronate is a diphosphonic acid derivative.
Tetrasodium etidronate is added to oils and caustic soda during saponification to prevent soaps from becoming mouldy and producing scum.
Tetrasodium etidronate is one of the salts of etidronic acid, a chelating agent.
Chelating agents can sequester (grab onto) free metal ions or minerals.

Tetrasodium etidronate ensures successful saponification and stabilises formulas by acting as an antioxidant and therefore preventing changes in colour, texture, and fragrance.
Tetrasodium etidronate also reduces the hardness of water, providing a soft feel to the skin.
Tetrasodium Etidronate is a close cousin of EDTA.
Tetrasodium etidronate is used in cosmetics as a chelator and stabilizer.
Tetrasodium etidronate allows products to remain stable both in terms of color and consistency.

Tetrasodium etidronate fights as a chelator against limestone which can limit the action of surfactants.
Tetrasodium etidronate is like the poorly biodegradable EDTA.
Tetrasodium etidronate is used in calcium and sodium compounds to improve stability in pharmaceutical products, detergents, liquid soaps, shampoos, agricultural chemical sprays, oil emulsion devices, contact lens cleaners and cosmetics.
Tetrasodium etidronate is also used in certain blood collection tubes used by medical laboratories.
Tetrasodium etidronate is a cost effective scale inhibitor used in various industrial applications such as industrial water treatment and detergents.

Tetrasodium etidronate further shows good stability in presence of chlorine as well as corrosion inhibition properties in presence of zinc and other phosphates.
Tetrasodium etidronate is a water-soluble ingredient used as a chelating agent in cosmetics and personal care products because of its ability to sequester metal ions and allow them to remain in formulas but lose their ability to react with other ingredients.
Tetrasodium etidronate is used in shampoos, shower gels, and hair conditioners.
Tetrasodium etidronate is a diphosphonic acid derivative, and used as a preservative in our soaps.
Tetrasodium etidronate is a chelating agents that’s made from formaldehyde and sodium cyanide.

Tetrasodium etidronate is recommended for alkaline products, like most handcrafted soap (and can also be used in creams and lotions).
Tetrasodium etidronate works synergistically with your preservative to improve preservative efficacy.
Tetrasodium etidronate can counteract the defoaming action of hardness ions, reducing soap scum and improving lather.
Tetrasodium etidronate stabilizes the color, texture and fragrance of our products over time.

Tetrasodium etidronate is a synthetic compound that binds trace metals and prevents color, texture and fragrance changes in cosmetics.
Tetrasodium etidronate is water soluble chemical that is used for chelation in cosmetics because it allows metals to work properly in product formulas without reacting negatively with other ingredients.
This makes soaps and lotions smooth by binding chemicals together and not allowing metal ions to disturb the way products work.
Tetrasodium etidronate is made from sodium cyanide and formaldehyde.

Tetrasodium etidronate has been found to work best in products that contain alkaline metals.
Soaps most frequently contain such metals and Tetrasodium etidronate helps soaps lather better and foam properly.
When products containing the compound interact with water, Tetrasodium etidronate forms complexes with iron, calcium, and magnesium to prevent metals from absorbing into the skin.
The compound also softens water.
Tetrasodium etidronate is a water-soluble ingredient used as a “chelator,” which means it binds to certain mineral ions to inactivate them.

Tetrasodium etidronate can prevent the deterioration of cosmetic and personal care products, as it stops the growth of mold and other microorganisms.
Tetrasodium etidronate is a substance used in cosmetic formulations.
Tetrasodium etidronate acts as a chelating agent (binds metal ions which could negatively affect the stability and quality of cosmetic products), emulsion stabilizer (supports emulsion formation and improves the stability and shelf life of emulsions) and viscosity regulator (increases or decreases the viscosity of cosmetic products).
Tetrasodium etidronate acts as a sequestrant, i.e. a substance that complexes metal ions.
Thanks to this, Tetrasodium etidronate increases the durability of the cosmetic and its stability.

Tetrasodium etidronate is a base ingredient of cosmetics that binds cations of valuable metals, forms permanent complexes with them.
Thanks to this, the washing product, intended for hair and skin care or make-up, retains its color and proper consistency.
Since the Tetrasodium etidronate is a sequestrant (another term for a chelating agent), it also softens hard water, i.e. water that contains calcium and magnesium cations.
Tetrasodium etidronate prevents the formation of scale, which can, among others, limit the action of surfactants.
Tetrasodium etidronate also has the ability to stabilize hydrogen peroxide, which is used in hair coloring and lightening products.

Tetrasodium etidronate is used in the production of soaps and care cosmetics.
Chelating ingredients of this type reduce the harmful effects of hard water.
Hair that is in regular contact with it becomes dry, dull and breaks easily and is difficult to comb.
Tetrasodium etidronate becomes dry and prone to irritation.
Tetrasodium etidronate softens tap water, thanks to which it protects hair and keeps it in good condition.

Tetrasodium etidronate is added to oils and caustic soda during the saponification process to prevent soaps from molding and foaming.
Tetrasodium etidronate helps to maintain the intended consistency and appearance of the cosmetic mass, thanks to which it is pleasant to the touch and spreads well on the skin or hair.
The application properties of the product are also important for the proper absorption of active substances.
Tetrasodium etidronate is used as a water softener in soaps to prevent soap scums and bathtub rings by locking up the calcium and magnesium in the water.
