High purity reagent in pharmaceutical and fine chemicals synthesis.

Besides Trigonox A-W70 we offer a wide range of organic peroxides and azo-compounds for use in synthesis of pharmaceuticals, herbicides, insecticides or as active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in anti-acne creams, face and body washes, and shampoos.
Organic peroxides and azo-compounds are well established, high purity reagents in pharmaceutical and fine chemicals synthesis.

Trigonox A-W70 can be used as an initiator in bulk, aqueous solution and emulsion polymerization of styrene, acrylates and methacrylates.
The polymerization can be initiated by radicals generated by the thermal decomposition of Trigonox A-W70 above 110°C or through a redox mechanism at low temperatures.

Effective organic reducing agents are ascorbic acid and sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate, possibly combined with heavy metal compounds such as cobalt or iron salts.
Typical applications of Trigonox A-W70 include: manufacture of acrylate, vinylacetate, styrene-butadiene and other latices, curing of styrene-polyester resins and use as an oxidizing agent for hydrocarbons or other chemicals.

Trigonox A-W70 is an initiator (70% active ingredient in water) used for curing promoted unsaturated polyester and vinylester resins at room temperature, and elevated cure of non-promoted resins.

Half-life data of Trigonox A-W70:
The reactivity of an organic peroxide is usually given by its half-life (t½) at various temperatures.
For Trigonox A-W70 in chlorobenzene half-life at other temperatures can be calculated by using the equations and constants mentioned below:
0.1 hr: at 207°C
1 hr: at 185°C
10 hr: at 164°C
Formula 1: kd = A·e-Ea/RT
Formula 2: t½ = (ln2)/kd

Thermal stability of Trigonox A-W70:
Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances, which may undergo self-accelerating decomposition.
The lowest temperature at which self-accelerating decomposition of a substance in the original packaging may occur is the SelfAccelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT).
The SADT is determined on the basis of the Heat Accumulation Storage Test.

Storage of Trigonox A-W70:
Due to the relatively unstable nature of organic peroxides a loss of quality can be detected over a period of time.
To minimize the loss of quality, Nouryon recommends a maximum storage temperature (Ts max. ) for each organic peroxide product.

tert-butyl hydrogen peroxide (Tert-butyl Hydroperoxide), referred to as TBHP, is one of the most commonly used alkyl hydroperoxide.
Commodities are generally light yellow transparent non-volatile liquids, slightly soluble in water, miscible with organic solvents.

Butyl hydrogen peroxide is mainly used as an initiator for free radical reactions or polymerization reactions in industry.
Compared with the decomposition products of most other initiators, it is acidic.

The decomposition products of TBHP are tert-butanol (TBA) and a small amount of acetone, which are not corrosive to the equipment, so the requirements for the equipment are not high.
The decomposition activation energy of O-O bond in tert-butyl hydrogen peroxide is low, which can be used as an improver to improve the decane number of diesel oil.

Tt-butyl hydrogen peroxide is a very important organic synthesis intermediate.
Trigonox A-W70 is a crosslinking agent used in unsaturated polyester crosslinking under medium and high temperature conditions.
Under the action of the metal catalyst, TBHP can also be used as an oxygen supplier to selectively oxidize unsaturated hydrocarbons such as acetals, allyl alcohol compounds, and unsaturated hydrocarbons.

Use of Trigonox A-W70:
Trigonox A-W70 is used as a catalyst for polymerization reactions.
Trigonox A-W70 is used as an introducer of peroxide groups in the substituent reaction.
Trigonox A-W70 is a first-class organic oxidant, which is easy to explode at high temperatures.
Trigonox A-W70 is used for dyeing and printing cotton, viscose, silk, cotton fiber and other fibers and their fabrics, and also for dyeing polyester/viscose blended fabrics.
Trigonox A-W70 can be used alone or for color matching.
After dyeing viscose fabric, Trigonox A-W70 is treated with fixing agent M, and the color light is slightly wilted.
After fixing agent Y treatment, the color light is slightly blue, and after urea-formaldehyde resin finishing, the color light is bluer.
Trigonox A-W70 is used as desiccant, polymerization initiator, organic synthesis intermediate for unsaturated melamine resin coatings
