TROYSAN V450 is an industrial preservative for use in aqueous adhesives, wallpaper pastes and tackifiers, building materials, coatings, emulsions, polymers and polyurethanes, hydraulic fluids, metalworking fluids, textiles, linens, fabrics, fabric surfaces, vinyls and plastics.
TROYSAN V450 is an industrial preservative and anti-mold agent for the protection of wood coatings and wood coating solutions, including Sapstain Control.

USES:
Hydraulic Fluids:
For use as a preservative in the manufacture and use of soluble oils, hydraulic fluids with a high water content and emulsions.
TROYSAN V45O should be applied directly to the hydraulic concentrate or use a diluting hydraulic fluid with a metering pump and spread evenly throughout the fluid.
Heavily contaminated systems must be cleaned prior to application of TROYSAN V45O.
For liquid concentrates, add TROYSAN V45O in an amount sufficient to ensure that the dilution liquid for end use contains 55-165 ppm product (25-73 ppm active ingredient).
For thinner fluids, add 0.47-1.44 lb TROYSAN V45O per 1000 gallons of emulsion.
Repeat until microbiological control is achieved.
For maintenance use add 0.09-0.58 lb TROYSAN V45O per 1000 gallons of emulsion every 4-6 weeks.
This will provide a 5-30 ppm emulsion of the active ingredient.
More frequent dosing may be required depending on the degree of microbial contamination and system design.
Metalworking Fluids:
TROYSAN V45O is recommended for fungus control in the manufacture and use of soluble, synthetic and semi-synthetic metalworking fluids.
TROYSAN V45O can be applied with a metering pump for uniform application to the liquid.
For liquid concentrates, add TROYSAN V45O at a rate that will provide 55-165 ppm product (25-73 ppm active ingredient) in the diluted metalworking fluid.
Use-Thinning Fluids:
For systems with visibly fouled, use 0.47-1.44 lb TROYSAN V45O per 1000 gallons of fluid.
Repeat until you gain control.
For maintenance use add 0.09-0.58 lb TROYSAN V45O per 1000 gallons of fluid every 4-6 weeks.
Depending on the degree of microbial contamination and system design, higher dose rates and/or frequency of use may be required.
Textiles, Laundry Cloth and Fabric Surfaces:
To prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi in the presence of moisture in and on fibres, textiles and fabrics, including carpets and base materials.
Not for use in carpet fibers.
For use as a preservative, use TROYSAN V45O at 0.1-0.25% by weight.
Vinyl and Plastics:
For use as a preservative for PVC floors and walls, automotive interior parts, refrigerator gaskets, shower curtains, mattress pads, raincoats, shoes, PVC slippers, and gloves.
Use TROYSAN V45O at the rate of 0.1-0.5% of the total weight of the preparation (corresponds to 0.05-0.5% of platisol).
TROYSAN V45O can also be used to preserve other plastic products such as automotive tops and exteriors, tarps, tents, sheds, indoor and outdoor carpet underlay, garden hoses, pool and pond liners, marine upholstery, roofing, PVC roof tiles etc. fibers.
TROYSAN V45O is used in an amount of 0.15-0.75% of the total weight of the composition (corresponding to 4.35 pounds per 1000 pounds of compound).
TROYSAN V45O is best added to the plasticizer during production.
Octhilinone is a member of the class of 1,2-thiazole that is 1,2-thiazol-3-one substituted on the nitrogen (position 2) by an octyl group.
