TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is highly etherified Hydroxyethylcellulose with high biostability and retarded swelling time.

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is Hydroxyethylcellulose.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 by SE TYLOSE acts as a thickening agent.

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 provides effects like thickening, pseudoplastic properties, water retention, protective colloid effects, film forming and a high level of salt tolerance.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 offers high gloss, high pigment compatibility, high pseudoplasticity, high wet scrub resistance, and very high thickening effect.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 exhibits moderate water retention. TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is used for paints applications like interior and exterior paints.

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is available in powder form with delayed solubility.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is also used in rinses, hair conditioner and hair gel.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 Hydroxyethylcellulose  is a a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer efficient thickening agent and suspending agent.

Typical recommended for thickening and hydration using TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2.
Disperse Hydroxyethyl cellulose in solution, usually water, and by stir vigorously or using a blender.

Continue to hydrate the TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 in water until completely dissolved.
The thickening will be delayed,  this is normal and how the product is designed to work.

Stir until all particles are dissolved.
This process allows the preparation of clear, smooth, viscous solutions in a short period of time by simply adding the R-grade to water and stirring until the polymer is completely dissolved to prevent settling of the particles.

Hydration time is  affected by several factors-  pH and temperature of the solution, and concentration level of the TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2, and the presence of alkalis like TEA, Sodium hydroxide (pH) solution.
Higher pH and higher temperatures DECREASE hydration time, but the higher pH and temperature adjustments too quickly may result in lumping.

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2's recommended that the HEC be added to room temperature water, with a neutral pH.
Once hydrated, TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 can be heated and the pH can be adjusted  (typically using TEA) as needed.
(The inhibition period, from the initial wetting to the start of dissolution,  hydration time, may vary from 5-25 min)

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is used to thicken shampoos, gels, body washes, and add body and after feel to bubble baths, body care products, lotions and creams.
Typical recommended usage levels .01% to 3%.

The meaning of "Y" in the name of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2:

Delayed solubility:
TYLOSE products with delayed solubility are denoted with an additional ´Y´.
Delayed solubility TYLOSE grades can easily be suspended in pH neutral water without forming any lumps.

Adjusting the pH to alkaline values can eliminate the delayed solubility.
Please note that the pH value should be adjusted after the TYLOSE is completely dispersed.
Raising the pH before dispersion results in lumps.

Applications of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2:
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is commonly used in the production of water-based resins, in the production of interior paints, in the adhesive industry, for polymerization of vinyl acetate, copolymer lactates with acrylic vinyl, in hydraulic fracture processes, in nonwovens and detergents, in Production of cosmetics, in layering of tiles, in production of paper, in production of pet bedding, for production of aqueous polymer emulsions based on ethylene-derived compounds, in production of medicine, in production of various creams and lotions, in Toothpaste production is used in the plastics industry to strengthen the viscosity of drilling fluids, etc.

Thickening / Adjustment of Consistency of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2:
Technically, the most important property of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is its capability to increase the viscosity of liquids and thus to act as a thickener.
The thickening effect of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 strongly depends on TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 concentration.

Furthermore, the influence of the degree of polymerisation (shown in the form of different viscosity levels) on the thickening effect of TYLOSE can be clearly seen.
With all other parameters constant, the viscosity of TYLOSE solutions increases with an increasing viscosity level.

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP 2 ensures the required consistency for application by providing a certain rheological profile or flow property.
This makes the application of paint easy.

The amount of TYLOSE as well as TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 viscosity determines the viscosity level and leads to optimal application properties.
During application, a decreasing viscosity with increasing shear stress is desirable.

An important property of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP 2 is its pronounced water retention capability.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP 2 prevents the water from penetrating into the absorbing substrate too quickly which results in a better adhesion to the substrate.

To the greatest possible extent, the water will be retained in the coating material during drying.
A uniform film formation is ensured and incipient cracking is avoided.

Particularly in formulations with high pigment volume concentration, the water retaining effect of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 ensures sufficient open time for application.
Adequate water retention in paints depends mainly on the concentration of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 and temperature of the substrate

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 functions as Protective Colloid:
Coating materials are predominantly dispersions of pigments and fillers in an aqueous medium.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 acts as a protective colloid by preventing the agglomeration of the solid particles.
This leads to a better storage stability and easier agitation of the paint

Especially in distempers, TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 acts as a binder by combining the solid particles and binding them to the substrate.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 has strong adhesive power, good dry binding power and dry adhesion.
For these reasons, TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 ensures a good adhesion between the coating and substrate.

Packaging, Storage and Safety Instructions of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2:
Like all fine-particle organic substances, cellulose ethers constitute a dust explosion hazard.
Dust formation and deposits must be kept to a minimum so that no ignitable dust/air mixtures can form.

Ignition sources such as naked flames, hot surfaces, sparks and static electricity should be avoided.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 starts to decompose at about 200°C.

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 ignition temperature is >360°C.
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 burns easily and the fire may spread.

When stored in closed containers, or in TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 original packaging in a dry place at room temperature, TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 can be kept for a long time.
In the case of high viscosity grades, a slow loss of viscosity can be measured after lengthy storage (>1 year).

TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 absorbs water from moist air.
Once opened, container must be resealed and kept tightly closed.
This TYLOSE-type is supplied in multi-ply paper bags with polyethylene intermediate layer and/or in big bags.

Reactivity of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2:
TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2 is non-reactive under normal conditions of use, storage and transport.

Chemical stability of TYLOSE HS 100000 YP2:
Stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions:
No dangerous reactions known under normal conditions of use.
