TYLOSE

Cellulose ethers are derivatives of the natural product cellulose.
Depending on the desired viscosity of the final product cellulose from cotton linters or from wood pulp is used.
We are only using wood  pulp from manufacturers who are certified according to sustainable management of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

Methyl cellulose (MC) can be seen as a generic term for mixed etherification cellulose ethers.
Common to these cellulose ethers is the methoxylation.
Additionally, the conversation can be achieved either with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide.

Cement Adhesives:
Cementitious thin bed adhesives are used to adhere ceramic tiles, to build walls of aerated concrete or lime stone bricks and to install exterior insulating finishing systems (EIFS).
They offer an easy and light workability, a high efficiency and guarantee a long durability.

Cement tile adhesives have to be easy to trowel.
They must provide long embedding time, high slip resistance and sufficient adhesion strength.
These properties can be influenced by TYLOSE MC.

Adhesives for block laying are used to build up walls of aerated concrete blocks, sand-lime bricks or standard bricks.
EIFS adhesives ensure an excellent bond between substrate and insulating boards.
TYLOSE MC improves the workability of EIFS adhesives and increases both adhesion and sag resistance.

Cost-effective tile adhesives:
Cost effective tile adhesives contain only the absolutely necessary amount of MC and no RDP.
They fulfil the adhesion requirements of a C1 tile adhesive according to ISO 13007 after initial storage and water immersion, but not after heat aging and freeze/thaw.
The open time should be sufficient but is not specified.

Paints
There are many reasons why TYLOSE is an important component in water based paints for ceilings, walls and facades.
Application of paint should be smooth and easy, whilst spatter must be kept to a minimum. To achieve these attributes only a small amount of TYLOSE is necessary.

Depending on the system being used, a concentration of 0.2 % - 0.5 % is typically required.
The choice of TYLOSE types depends on the application and requirements.
The most commonly used TYLOSE types in coating materials are TYLOSE HS and TYLOSE H.

Home care:
Home care products include all types of liquid products such as floor cleaners, detergents and dishwashing agents.
Viscous formulas or gel cleaners are particularly useful for cleaning vertical surfaces.

Gel cleaners also tend to be chosen for applications where the agent will be left to work for an extended period of time.
TYLOSE is ideal for thickening and adjusting the rheology of water-based, liquid cleaners with a pH of 4 to 11.
The desired look and consistency for cleaning agents can be achieved by using TYLOSE.

TYLOSE can also be used as a thickener to adjust the rheology of liquid detergents, especially in products designed for delicate textiles.

Liquid detergents:
Liquid detergents are mainly made up of surfactants such as alkylbenzene sulfonates, but also contain water softeners and enzymes.
Depending on the type of detergent, further ingredients such as bleach are used in the formulation.

Oil and Gas Industry:
TYLOSE is highly suitable in different oilfield applications.
Furthermore, TYLOSE is used in hydraulic fracturing processes and TYLOSE is an effective fluid-loss additive in well cements.

TYLOSE is compatible with most additives such as biocides, antifoaming agents, oxygen scavengers, fluid loss control additives and retarders.
As a naturally derived polymer, TYLOSE is easily biodegradable.

Cementing:
Wells are often expected to produce hydrocarbons for a long period of time, which is only achievable with proper cementations of the well casing.

TYLOSE adds important properties to the cement slurry.
TYLOSE minimizes fluid loss, enhances retardation of the slurry and modifies TYLOSE rheology.
Innovative TYLOSE grades are suitable for use even in high temperature environments.
