VERSENE 100

CAS Number: 64-02-8
Molecular Formula: C10H12Na4
Molecular Weight: 380.2 g/mo

VERSENE 100 is an aqueous solution of the tetrasodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid.
VERSENE 100 is the strongest, most versatile, and widely used chelant for controlling metal ions over a broad pH range in aqueous systems.

VERSENE 100 will not chelate monovalent metal ions such as sodium or potassium, but will chelate most multivalent metal ions (e.g., Fe, Cu, Mn, Ca, Mg, Zn) in a 1:1 molar ratio.
The chelation reaction of VERSENE 100 is virtually instantaneous in most cases.

VERSENE 100 is an aqueous solution of the tetrasodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid.
VERSENE 100 acts as a most versatile and widely used chelant for controlling metal ions over a broad pH range in aqueous systems.

VERSENE 100 is completely miscible with water, but is not soluble in organic systems.
VERSENE 100 is stable under widely varying conditions of temperature, acidity, alkalinity, and the presence of other chemicals.
VERSENE 100 is attached, however, by strong oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite bleach.

VERSENE solution is a chelating agent used to lift some cell types from the culture vessel surface into suspension.
VERSENE 100 can be used as a wash prior to the addition of a trypsin product.

VERSENE or EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is a chelating agent used to lift some cell types from the culture vessel surface into suspension.
VERSENE can be used as a wash prior to the addition of a trypsin product or used as described above.
VERSENE is supplied at use dilution.

First Aid Measures of VERSENE 100:

General advice:
First Aid responders should pay attention to self-protection and use the recommended protective clothing (chemical resistant gloves, splash protection).

Inhalation:
Move person to fresh air.
If not breathing, give artificial respiration.

If by mouth to mouth use rescuer protection (pocket mask, etc).
If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel.
Call a physician or transport to a medical facility.

Skin contact:
Wash off with plenty of water.

Eye contact:
Wash immediately and continuously with flowing water for at least 30 minutes.
Remove contact lenses after the first 5 minutes and continue washing.

Obtain prompt medical consultation, preferably from an ophthalmologist.
Suitable emergency eye wash facility should be immediately available.

Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting.
Give one cup (8 ounces or 240 ml) of water or milk if available and transport to a medical facility.
Do not give anything by mouth unless the person is fully conscious.
