VINAVIL 2428

Vinavil 2428 is a vinyl-ethylene-acrylic 60% solid content water dispersion, plasticizers free.
Vinavil 2428 can be used as raw material for the production of pressure sensitive adhesives, packaging adhesives and flooring adhesives.

Vinavil 2428 is suitable for tapes, labels and for adhesion of materials used in thermal and acoustical insulation.
Vinavil 2428 is particularly suitable to be coated on plasticized PVC, including monomeric one.

Due to Vinavil 2428 good balance between adhesive and cohesive characteristics, Vinavil 2428 can be used for making transfer and double-sided tape.
As previously mentioned, this adhesive generates a film with high cohesive forces once dry.

However, this is a strong point that requires to keep attention
during the adhesion on porous supports, i.e. when the adhesion is carried out by coating on silicone paper and subsequent lamination.

High cohesion makes this adhesive less conformable for rough surfaces than others, so Vinavil 2428 requires attention during lamination to have a close contact all over the surface of the tape.
The bonding with these surfaces get better with time and is recommended to check Vinavil 2428 at least 30 minutes after coupling.

The adhesive should not be contaminated with water insoluble substances (e.g. lubricant oils), that could create openings during film or release liner coating.
Vinavil 2428 could be coated with several blades or commonly used rolls.

Vinavil 2428 has good mechanical stability, without formation of clumps during the coating process.
During cleaning process of not dried dispersion Vinavil 2428 is first recommended to use water and then polar solvents, if Vinavil 2428 is required.
To clean dried adhesive we recommended MEK, acetone, ethyl acetate or light benzines.

Vinavil 2428 by Vinavil is a plasticizers free vinyl-ethylene-acrylic water dispersion.
Exhibits excellent resistance to temperature, plasticizers and good adhesion on plastic materials, metals, treated PE & PP both.

Provides high cohesion and good mechanical stability.
Vinavil 2428 can be used as raw material for the production of pressure sensitive adhesives (tapes, films, labels, transfer & double-sided tape), packaging adhesives and flooring adhesives (for PVC, linoleum, moquettes, foams).

Vinavil 2428 is also used for adhesives for gluing paper and cardboard to low energy surface substrates.
Vinavil 2428 has a shelf life of 6 months.

Applications of Vinavil 2428:
Vinavil 2428 can be used in the production of the following adhesives:
Flooring adhesives: for PVC, linoleum, moquettes, foams;

Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (e.g.: tapes, films, labels);
Adhesives for gluing paper and cardboard to low energy surface substrates like PP, PVC,
PE, PES, lacquered paper and leather.

Uses of Vinavil 2428:
Packaging
Flooring adhesives
Adhesive promoter
Paper and plastic materials
Paper converting

Packing of Vinavil 2428:
Vinavil 2428 is available in bulk, in 1000 l IBCs and in 125 Kg drums.

Handling, Transport and Storage of Vinavil 2428:
The product has a shelf life of 6 months starting from the dispatch date, if stored in the original, unopened containers at temperatures between 5 and 40°C and if stored and transported hygienically, avoiding frost and direct sunlight.
An indoor warehousing is highly suggested for product delivered in packed conditions.

Skins or lumps can be formed during storage and transport of the dispersion, due to Vinavil 2428 film forming nature and weathering conditions.
A filtration or sieve process is recommended before further processing.

For bulk storage, regular stirring is suggested.
For IBCs or drums, product tends to film on the top of the surface of the packaging, therefore Vinavil 2428 should be stored indoor, avoiding direct sunlight and carefully transported.

The dispersion contains some initial quantity of bactericide, according to the state of the art and to actual Regulatory laws.
However, Vinavil 2428 is highly suggested to post-add further quantities of biocides to avoid problems with microorganisms, especially after the first opening of drums, IBCs, tanks or other storage facilities.
All tanks and pipework, as well as hoses and pipes of the tankers, should be kept adequately clean.

In case of storing in unstirred tanks, a layer of preservative-containing water should be sprayed onto the surface of the dispersion to prevent the formation of unwanted skins and possible attack by microorganisms.
Proper procedures, periodic tank cleaning and sanitization, must be set up in order to prevent microbial attack.

All water based finished products, manufactured from polymer dispersions, usually require preservation, too.
