VULKANOX BKF

VULKANOX BKF is an antioxidant from the group of bisphenols . As an anti-aging agent , Vulkanox BKF stabilizes elastomers , rubber , paints and polymers.

Description of Vulkanox BKF : White to pale beige coloured powder.
Soluble in acetone, chloroform, and toluol. Limited soluble in alcohol. Insoluble in water.

Uses : Vulkanox BKF is a non-staining antioxidant of the bisphenol type.
Vulkanox BKF is more effective than monophenols and suitable for the stabilisation of elastomers, latices, paints and polymers.
Vulkanox BKF complies with Regulation XXI of the BGVV (German Federal Institute for Consumer Health and Veterinary Medicine) and is approved as a stabiliser for rubber and plastics articles which come into contact with foodstuffs.

Applications of Vulkanox BKF
Vulkanox BKF may be incorporated into the bromobutyl rubber(BIIR) matrix to enhance the overall thermo-reversibility of dicyclopentadiene dicarboxylic acid (DCPDCA) cross-linked BIIR. Vulkanox BKF may also be used as an antioxidant which shows a higher oxidation stability in distilled biodiesel.

In 2016, 2,2′-methylenebis (4-methyl-6- tert- butylphenol) was included in the EU's ongoing action plan ( CoRAP ) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) as part of substance evaluation .
The effects of the substance on human health and the environment are re-evaluated and, if necessary, follow-up measures are initiated.
The reason for the uptake of 2,2′-methylenebis (4-methyl-6- tert- butylphenol) were concerns about the possible danger from reproductive-toxic properties and as a potential endocrine disruptor.
The re-evaluation took place from 2016 and was carried out by Denmarkcarried out. A final report was then published
