BENZOTHIAZYL-2-DICYCLOHEXYL SULFENAMIDE (DCBS) is used as a post-effect accelerator for natural rubber, butadiene rubber, butylaniline, isopentyl rubber, etc. Good dispersion properties in rubber. 
The scorch time in natural rubber compounds is longer than that of accelerator DIBS, so the operation safety is higher. 
The vulcanization speed at vulcanization temperature is similar to that of accelerator DIBS. 
The vulcanization flatness is similar to that of accelerator CZ.

The moldless steam vulcanization of the rubber containing Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) is slightly faster than the flat vulcanization. 
Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) is suitable for rubber materials with large amounts of highly active reinforcing agents, and also suitable for rubber materials mainly composed of polybutadiene rubber or recycled rubber. 
The mechanical properties of vulcanized rubber, especially the dynamic properties, are relatively good, and the elasticity and elongation strength are high.

Because vulcanizates have a bitter taste, they are not suitable for making rubber products that come into contact with food. 
Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) is mainly used to manufacture tires, adhesive tapes, shock-absorbing products and refurbished tires. 
The general dosage is 0.5-1 part and sulfur is about 2.5 parts. 

Synthesis
The specific synthesis of Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) is not readily available in scientific literature. 
However, benzothiazole sulfenamides can be generally synthesized through the reaction of a secondary amine with 2-benzothiazolesulfenyl chloride.

Vulcanization Acceleration
Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) acts as a vulcanization accelerator. 
During vulcanization, Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) decomposes, releasing reactive intermediates that promote the formation of sulfur bridges between rubber chains. 
The exact mechanism involves the breaking of the S-N bond in Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS), forming free radicals that attack the sulfur in the rubber and initiate crosslinking.

The overall reaction can be simplified as:

Rubber + Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) --> Vulcanized Rubber 

Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) is a white powder with a water solubility of 1.9 x 10-3 mg/L at 25 °C, a melting point of 99 °C at 1013 hPa and a vapour pressure of < 7.0 x 10-5 Pa at 100 °C. 
A measured log Kow value of >4.8 suggests that this chemical is suspected to have a high bioaccumulation potential. 
Benzothiazyl-2-Dicyclohexyl Sulfenamide (DCBS) is hydrolysed in water and its half-lives at 25 °C have been measured as 4.92 day at pH 4.0, 18.6 days at pH 7.0 and 112 days at pH 9, producing two major metabolites (dicyclohexylamine and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole)

Storage: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, avoiding exposure of the packaged product to direct sunlight.
Always store in a cool (below 30°C) & dry place in single stack pallets away from direct sun light or any other heat source to avoid compaction. 
Avoid exposure to acids, acidic materials / atmosphere & high humidity.
