Cyclopropylamine is a strained-ring primary aliphatic amine used widely in organic synthesis, particularly as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and agrochemical manufacturing.
Cyclopropylamine is a primary aliphatic amine that consists of cyclopropane bearing a single amino substituent.

Cyclopropylamine has a role as a mouse metabolite.
Cyclopropylamine is miscible with water, ethanol, ether and chloroform.
Many aminocyclopropanes are known, most prominently the amino acid aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid.

The cyclopropylamine group is featured in several pharmaceutical drugs: Simeprevir, used to treat hepatitis C infections, Risdiplam, used to treat spinal muscular atrophy, ciprofloxacin, an antibiotic.
Cyclopropylamine can be prepared by the Kulinkovich reaction, by dialkylation of bromonitromethane, and various cyclopropanations.

Cyclopropylamine is a primary aliphatic amine that consists of cyclopropane bearing a single amino substituent.
Cyclopropylamine has a role as a mouse metabolite.
Cyclopropylamine ( cyclopropanamine according to IUPAC ) is a primary amine .

At room temperature, Cyclopropylamine is liquid and volatile due to its relatively low boiling point .
Like many amines, cyclopropylamine has an ammonia -like to fishy odor.

USES and APPLICATIONS of CYCLOPROPYLAMINE:
Cyclopropylamine) is used in the preparation of N-[4-(4-fluoro)phenyl-2-aminothiazol-5-yl]pyrimidin-2-yl-alkylamine derivatives.

Cyclopropylamine is a strained-ring primary aliphatic amine used widely in organic synthesis, particularly as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and agrochemical manufacturing.

Cyclopropylamine is mainly used in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical synthesis intermediates, and can be used in the synthesis of new antibacterial drugs ciprofloxacin products, such as the synthesis of ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, spafloxacin and other drugs.

In addition, cyclopropylamine is also an important intermediate for the synthesis of pesticides, plant protection agents and herbicides, such as 2-chloro-4-6-cyclopropyl-s-triazine, cyprochlor, cyproterazine, cyprocyanine and other cyclopropanes class of pesticides.
Cyclopropylamine is used, among other things, in pharmaceutical chemistry as a starting material for the production of new active ingredients .

-Notable applications of Cyclopropylamine include:
*Synthesis of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, and other pharmaceutical agents.
*Production of herbicides, fungicides, herbicidal triazines, and related active ingredients.
*Laboratory use as a building block reagent in research and R&D settings.
*Uses Pharma and agrochemical intermediate, organic synthesis reagent.

CHARACTERISTICS of CYCLOPROPYLAMINE:
Chemical properties
Cyclopropylamine is an organic base and therefore forms salts of the type C 3 H 5 -NH 3 + Cl − with various acids , such as hydrochloric acid .
Cyclopropylamine's reactivity is strongly influenced by the nucleophilicity of the nitrogen .

For example, Cyclopropylamine reacts with carboxylic acid halides to form carboxylic acid amides and with aldehydes / ketones to form imines or, through reductive amination , to form corresponding secondary or tertiary amines.
The bond angle between the carbon atoms in the cyclopropyl ring is approximately 60°, and the bond distance of 151 pm is relatively short for a single bond .

Therefore , the ring is taut and planar.
These spatial properties are used for various purposes in pharmaceutical research, for example, as a "suitable" structural element for certain receptors .

BIOCHEM/PHYSIOL ACTIONS of CYCLOPROPYLAMINE:
Cyclopropylamine inactivates cytochrome P450 enzymes by a mechanism involving initial one-electron oxidation at nitrogen followed by scission of the cyclopropane ring leading to covalent modification of the enzyme.
Cyclopropylamine is a mechanism-based inhibitor of quinoprotein methylamine dehydrogenase from Paracoccus denitrificans.

PURIFICATION METHODS of CYCLOPROPYLAMINE:
Cyclopropylamine has been isolated as the benzamide m 100.6-101.0o (from aqueous EtOH).
Cyclopropylamine forms a picrate m 149o (from EtOH/pet ether) from which the free base can be recovered using a basic ion-exchange resin and can then be distilled through a Todd column (p 11) using an automatic still head which only collects products boiling below 51o/atm.
Polymeric materials if present will boil above this temperature.

PREPARATION of CYCLOPROPYLAMINE:
Cyclopropylamine is synthesized from 1,3-propanediol by bromination, cyanation, cyclization, amidation, and Hoffmann rearrangement.
Cyclopropylamine is also synthesized with γ-butyrolactone and isopropanol by five steps of ring-opening esterification, cyclization, hydrolysis, acylation and Hofmann degradation.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES of CYCLOPROPYLAMINE:
Cyclopropylamine is a colorless and transparent flammable liquid with volatility and ammonia odor.
Cyclopropylamine is miscible with water, methanol, ethanol, benzene, toluene and other solvents.

BIOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE of CYCLOPROPYLAMINE:
Cyclopropylamine as such has no biological significance for humans, animals or plants.
Cyclopropylamine inactivates cytochrome P450 enzymes by a mechanism involving initial one-electron oxidation at nitrogen followed by scission of the cyclopropane ring leading to covalent modification of the enzyme.

Cyclopropylamine is a useful chemical compound with a variety of research applications.
