Studies in which the antifungal activity of paraben esters solubilized by surfactants was decreased by IPM Isopropyl Myristate (Matsumoto & Aoki, 1962) indicate that the effectiveness of medicinal substances may be influenced by the presence of surfactants and oily ingredients such as isopropyl myristate.
