APPLICATIONS

Parametaxylenol is an antiseptic and germicide. Chloroxylenol is used for mildew prevention.
Further, Parametaxylenol is also an antibacterial; antiseptic (topical and urinary).

Methods of Manufacturing of Parametaxylenol:

General procedure: m-Xylenol (6.11 g, 50.0 mmol), FeCl3 (25 mg), DCM (25 ml) and the catalyst (30 mg) wereadded to a dried 50 ml round-bottomed flask.
Freshly distilled sulfuryl chloride (4.66 ml, 57.7mmol) was added slowly over 2 h via a pressure-equalizing dropping funnel.
The reaction wasstirred at room temperature for a further 2 h.
The mixture was quenched with water (20 ml), and the organic components were extracted with diethyl ether (3 × 30 ml).
The ether layerswere removed, combined and dried over MgSO4. The drying agent was filtered, and the solventwas removed under reduced pressure.

The crude product was weighed and then analyzed byquantitative GCGeneral procedure: Freshly distilled sulfuryl chloride (4.66 mL, 57.7mmol) was added slowly over 2 h, via a pressure equalizing dropping funnel, to a solution of m-xylenol (6.1 g, 50 mmol), FeClGeneral procedure: m-Xylenol (6.11 g, 50.0 mmol), FeCl3 (25 mg), DCM (25 ml) and the catalyst (30 mg) wereadded to a dried 50 ml round-bottomed flask. For Parametaxylenol (USEPA/OPP Pesticide Code:86801) ACTIVE products with label matches.
Parametaxylenol is an active ingredient in germicides, antiseptics, etc., fungistat; mildew preventive; preservative; chemical intermediate.

Parametaxylenol is used in hospitals and households for disinfection and sanitation.
More to that, Parametaxylenol is also commonly used in antibacterial soaps, wound-cleansing applications and household antiseptics.

DESCRIPTION

Parametaxylenol is a broad spectrum antimicrobial chemical compound used to control bacteria, algae, fungi and virus.

Parametaxylenol is a member of the class of phenols that is 3,5-xylenol which is substituted at position 4 by chlorine.
Further, Parametaxylenol is bactericidal against most Gram-positive bacteria but less effective against Staphylococci and Gram-negative bacteria, and often inactive against Pseudomonas species.
Parametaxylenol is ineffective against bacterial spores.

Parametaxylenol has a role as an antiseptic drug, a disinfectant and a molluscicide.
Furthermore, Parametaxylenol derives from a 3,5-xylenol.|Chloroxylenol, or para-chloro-meta-xylenol (PCMX), is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent used for skin disinfection and surgical instruments.

Parametaxylenol is found in antibacterial soaps, wound-cleansing applications, and household antiseptics.
The halophenol is shown to be most effective against Gram positive bacteria where it disrupts the cell wall due to its phenolic nature.
Parametaxylenol is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines.

Parametaxylenol, also known as benzytol or dettol, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as meta cresols.
These are aromatic compounds containing a meta-cresol moiety, which consists of a benzene ring bearing a methyl group and a hydroxyl group at ring positions 1 and 3, respectively.
Parametaxylenol has been identified in human blood as reported by.

Parametaxylenol is not a naturally occurring metabolite and is only found in those individuals exposed to this compound or its derivatives.
Technically, Parametaxylenol is part of the human exposome.
The exposome can be defined as the collection of all the exposures of an individual in a lifetime and how those exposures relate to health.

Parametaxylenol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as meta cresols.
These are aromatic compounds containing a meta-cresol moiety, which consists of a benzene ring bearing a methyl group and a hydroxyl group at ring positions 1 and 3, respectively.

Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application of Parametaxylenolin quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.

Parametaxylenol, or para-chloro-meta-xylenol (PCMX), is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent used for skin disinfection and surgical instruments.
More to that, Parametaxylenol is found in antibacterial soaps, wound-cleansing applications, and household antiseptics.

Parametaxylenol is ineffective against bacterial spores.

Parametaxylenol has a role as an antiseptic drug, a disinfectant and a molluscicide.
Moreover, Parametaxylenol is a member of phenols and a member of monochlorobenzenes.
Parametaxylenol is functionally related to a 3,5-xylenol.

Parametaxylenol, also known as para-chloro-meta-xylenol (PCMX), is an antiseptic and disinfectant which is used for skin disinfection, and together with alcohol for cleaning surgical instruments.
Beside that, Parametaxylenol is also used within a number of household disinfectants and wound cleaners.
Parametaxylenol is thought to act by disrupting microbial cell walls and inactivating cellular enzymes, and is less effective than some other available agents.

Parametaxylenol is available as a liquid.

Side effects of Parametaxylenol are generally few but can include skin irritation.
Parametaxylenol may be used mixed with water or alcohol.

Parametaxylenol is most effective against gram-positive bacteria.
Furthermore, Parametaxylenol works by disruption of the cell wall and stopping the function of enzymes.
